Chaos Era Continues - Cyno Update

New industrial cynosural fields can be used by jump freighters, so as to reduce the impact of the cynosural field changes on logistical supply runs to more remote and dangerous areas of space.

From the Patch announcement. This is completely delusional and removed from reality.

Wow that’s politician level BS speak.

Just looked on Sisi and yes i know numbers between Sisi and TQ aren’t set in stone till they are on TQ but i’m hopinig this is a mistake that the new industrial cyno take more LO at a starting point of 800 units over the current 500 units

takes more minerals to build too once again another FU to the logistic pilots

@CCP_Rise after reviewing the changes and the update can i ask why did you guys go so petty with the updated changes. i only @ ccp rise as this is his thread i’m sure he wasn’t the only one to work on this change

Might as well just have racial Cynos. Amarr ships can only jump to amarr cynos ect… Yes I know that is a stupid idea but its not much worse than what is about to go live. The industrial cyno is 100% retarded.

Sadly this sort of thing is all too common from CCP.

  • Hey logistics pilots, you can now jump in a 1 bil plus Blops to attempt to save your 1 mil isk cyno hauler.

I wonder did CCP think about this change at all - The average cyno for a JF is used for less than 1 minute, yet has to be a sitting duck, advertised to everyone in system for 10…

why the miner ship knows that he really doesn’t need it. do nerf then.

What really pisses me off about the industrial cyno is they act like they did it so people can have cyno vigils.

Nah, it’s for the awoxers.

Drive up next to Rorq w/your awoxer DST, pre-heat the tank, light cyno. Watch the bombers come in. Anyone targets you, turn on the overheated tank while a couple of covert logi T3Cs keep an eye on things.

There is a possibility of transporting t1 indy BPC instead and carry minerals or even compressed ore enough to build t1 indy at midpoint. Will take WAY less than 20km3 per ship but way more time (to manufacture). You can also prepare your routes beforehand and seed multitude of cyno ships, or seed minerals/ore and produce industrials as needed.

That only works if you have regular waypoints.
And is seriously not any sort of “reasonable” solution.

CCP has either decided to weed out Small time JF operators deliberately or have no idea of what this change will do.
I’d be curious as to which it is - But won’t be holding my breath waiting for them to tell us the real reasons behind this change.

Making it harder and more costly, in time, isk and risk, isn’t even close to “balanced” but then neither is BO as it actually has little to no affect on the largest groups (as can be seen again in the latest MER).

This is the part I don’t get. So, if a blops can jump to an indy cyno, can it also bridge to one? Because that significantly reduces the barrier to blops drops, doesn’t it?

A BLOPS can jump and bridge all covert ships to any cyno type. Adding the industrial cyno just preserves that ability. Instead of bait mining ships you can now use bait industrials.

Is there any reason why any combat sites will remain in game as players will obviously no longer be ablie to rat without any support?

This is suppose to be a game where teams play together but one cannot expect the entire team to sit ons station while you rat no one will be ablie to generate any income

I think they trying to force players to stop the game so hey have a ligit reason to switch it off. Looks like the idea is to end it

I remember a time not long ago may 2 and half years ago where 43000 players were on line. Now the game strugglibg to hit 19000 mark. Surely not a good sign

If the BlOps can jump to it, it can bridge to it.

Just going to repeat myself the once for you from the other thread:

Be in range of the umbrella and have an alt in a brick-tanked Falcon 200km away (set up bookmarks when you get into the anom). Be ready to put the cyno alt in the standing fleet instead of the super, and if you get jumped, get into Theta comms, ask for help, and do what you’re told .

You’ll be fine.

If you don’t have any alts who can fly force recons:

  1. Fix that.
  2. Talk to the other people ratting in the system to see if any of them do, and work out a deal to provide cyno cover for the whole system.
  3. If not (2), then until (1), put an alt in a Clownshoe Nereus in the system, with the entosis replaced by an industrial cyno. Be even more alert and in Theta comms all the time. If you get jumped, tell them what’s going on, ask if they can get a Force Recon cyno bridged to the indy cyno via BlOps. If it’s something big enough to threaten your super, they’ll probably want to kill it. But definitely (1).

Sadly going back to one of the Bloc groups is looking more and more appealing.
