Based on the the killboards of the char you posted. I found an interesting character. :backhand_index_pointing_down: Some Carebears can turn into Something angry but cunning if triggered. :slightly_smiling_face:

zkillboard is the epeen equivalent for PvP in EVE. A lot of us suck, we know we suck - we just don’t understand why it’s continually thrown in our face.

I mean, players have quit over this kind of harassment - but it’s always been justified that they just need to ā€œget gudā€ or weren’t the type of player that was wanted anyway.

And players wonder why (actual) player numbers have dropped… Well, if you continually piss in the paddling pool - don’t expect anyone else will have the desire to join you.

It’s called Taunting bruh.. In-fairness, Taunting in eve is relatively civil.

Compared to COD

But the irony in Eve is you’ll hear this kind of words from PVE players who was just caught by a PVP’er.

Whether people want to be posers or not is irrelevant, I’m talking about actual gameplay.

Currently with zkill and localthreat one can easily tell within the 60s gate cloak who’s a small-ship faction warfare pilot, who’s an F1 monkey, and who’s an out-of-corp snuff cyno alt. This is just the tip of the iceberg, I and others look at historical data for systems, ship types, etc. to scout for both targets and potential threats too.

Removing all that intel and forcing players to rely on intuition from dscan and local player names alone and it’s going to lead to a whole lot more fights. Not just more fights, but riskier, messier, less clinical and more competitive fights, since we would all go into it less informed and be forced to rely more on our wits and pilot skills as combat begins.

I do think this would make PVP more difficult in general, and definitely more difficult to learn for an enthusiastic player. Bob knows EVE has a high enough barrier to entry as it is. Maybe if kill API access was limited to certain areas of space or something it would allow both approaches to gameplay.

Not even close.

Hmmm, did not know of that one, guess thats going in a bookmark now

It’s Memorial Day. :united_states: :statue_of_liberty: :baseball: :pie:

What ever happened to:

What a load of nonsense.

What is even the point of logging into a multiplayer MMORPG if not to somewhere along the line gain some sense of being ā€˜better’ than some number of other players ? Why spend months…years even…skilling up if not to be able to do better than others ? And why even bother doing better if nobody even knows that one has done better ?

Without a public record of kills and losses, all one’s training and skills and experience and losses and so on are utterly worthless. What is conceivably the point of being good if nobody knows one is good ?

If there was no public record such as killboard I’d cancel my subscription the very next day. It would be a complete waste of time logging in.

It’s very sad that you’re motivated by the destruction.

Yes I do.

The F1 Monkey is strong in this one

You answered yourself - it is because you suck.

It is the duty of every ganker to remind you, just incase you forget.

Oh for God’s sake. I’m motivated by playing the frikin game. You know…a dystopian shoot-em-up space economy simulator. What game were you talking about ?

Sheesh, I seriously wonder what planet some of you are living on.

It’s like ’ I joined a space shoot-em-up game…and people are shooting at me ! Make them stop ! ’

What a lame excuse, we all know you shooting people in game is just your way of living out your fantasy of blowing people up in real-life… on that note anyone who plays counter-strike is also a serial killer.

Oh…er…well I also charged up a French beach and machine gunned 400 Germans. Oh, wait, that was Medal Of Honour.

I’d better start making my Alcatraz escape plans.

Taking from others and then mocking them.

Great character traits

hmmm. I don’t remember shooting people in-game in New Eden just flying Tin cans and floating eggs. Maybe I’ll try Eve Vanguard.

This has more to do with external validation. Not everybody needs it.

I can’t speak for others, but my self-worth originates internally. I don’t need anybody to know if I’ve done this or that or how well. An experience is still worth it because I lived through it and it was significant to me. I share my experiences with friends and people close to me, but that’s as far as it goes in terms of needing external feedback/opinion/anything.

In a game about destruction. Very sad indeed.
