Compensation for forced name changes?

My opinion is that Fenris should use a new and unique identifier for their employees. For example FCO – Fenris Creations Officer/Fenris Commanding Officer. Or maybe just FEN.

That’s just one suggestion. One could come up with a combination that would be unique and suitable for the new branding. Forcing players to change their names (or worse – changing their character names to generic ‘Caldari Citizen’ or the like) just because you decided to rebrand yourself is not very nice.

It’s almost like this name change wasn’t thought through properly.

I don’t even understand why they need to rebrand themselves. Sometimes it’s necessary, yes. And sometimes it brings freshness to an old enterprise, absolutely. But there was nothing wrong with CCP. CCP was a pretty strong and identifyable brand (anybody who confused it with some party in China or russia, was in the minority). For most of their playerbase, this is just going to be awkward and confusing for a few months. If the new name takes, then that will be a temporary discomfort. If not, it’s just going to end up a failed rebrand (which can also happen).

Anyway, since they’re going down this road, I do hope it takes after a few months of getting used to it.

Maybe the Communist Party demanded.

Also, quite a lot of entities explicitly named ‘Fenris’ in the game as well:

Tough luck

At least they didn’t change their name to Aiko Danuja Online.

Nobody knows “FC” means staff.

The colored text already signals staff status, so reserving “FC” in names is pointless. But what sort of compensation did you have in mind?

i will never stop calling them ccp, no matter what they change their name to.

that would be an improvement tbh.

Yeah i suggest to CCP that they could use FNRS as i only saw 1 player and like 2 corps that would have been affected, which is a much easier pill to swallow

Although i would rather they just didn’t

i don’t really have anything specific in mind. being forced to change the name of a character i’ve had for more than a decade, in a game where for the past 23 years the policy of no name changes has been strictly enforced, especially when it happens through no fault of my own should merit something though. considering it’s a video game with almost entirely digital assets, where all they have to do is move a few 1s and 0s around to achieve some kind of compensation, i don’t feel it’s asking too much. there are also two other people in my highsec corp who will have this same issue. one is a 2004 player.

How about they do a search and replace of FC with CCP.

Or on a more serious note, give every player affected by new policy 1 billion ISK. (Terms and conditions apply)

Fanus?

You surely must be american that has no clue what ‘communism’ even meant but still sees it as a red flag because fox news told you so and you are simply not educated enough by the not existing crappy us education system to see through those lies. It’s ISLAND, it’s part of EUROPE the continent that INVENTED democracy believe it or not, that has 10000% MORE ‘freedom’ than the predatory capitalism in the usa ever will have. 'Your ‘land of the free’ is so unfree on so many fields it really hurts. This starts with employee rights and even such simple things like drinking in public(stupid open container law in the us) are an example for how much better europe is. I know it hurts, but it’s just the truth

Uta, I’m from Brazil. I see communism every single day.

How about you take your pills and chill a little.

I mean it, you seem very distressed.

People should REALLY stop to flag different opinions away…

You can’t drink alcohol in public spaces in Europe either. (That’s what you meant, even though you didn’t specify. Only alcoholics are bothered by that law, by the way).

What?

Did you really say that?

Sorry but you are misinformed…

I can for example grab a can of beer, enter a street and drink it unbothered by anyone.

There is no restriction, i even can do that right before a police car and nothing happens.

Sorry to bother you but US ‘Law’, you should better call it ‘the lack of Freedom’, does not apply in other countries these are the facts…

But i admit that you WILL get ‘the look’ from said officers, but they actually DO nothing because it is allowed to do that.

And you will get many headshakes from civilians that judge you :stuck_out_tongue:

But that’s all.
