Yep. Will be the 3 year anniversary of the chat system moving to cloud servers coming up in March.
Dealt with this during a 5+ hour fleet Saturday… no fleetchat for the entire fleet at first, half the fleet got it back after about 3 or 4 hours…
I’ve also had tons of socket disconnects all Saturday evening and all Sunday (day and night)… way more than usual. Felt very DDOSy like back in late Jan/early Feb 2020.
Make in-game notepad files for that. 3900 character limit, but MOTDs aren’t exactly infinite either. I have about 6 notepad files with route links for all 3 of my mains to use when doing exploration.
Dev blog from Feb 2018. New chat system went in March 2018 (moved from CCP’s own servers to Amazon’s cloud)… problems on and off ever since, esp with different people listed in local for different toons. For nearly 3 years now.

15 hours to resolve a chat problems… Will take months to see a compensation from CCP if it arrives one day… (I don’t think so)…
All the free to play game on my phone or tablet give you a compensation in term of in game currency for any problems or unexpected update… And in less than 10 hours, the compensation is already received. In Eve, you pay a 11 euros month suscription but you never see any kind of compensation when problems arise…
that is a lame service, a spit in the face…
Are they stored server side? I found out someone writing in 2007 that they were.

Would be to learn what caused these issues.
In-game notepad files are in fact stored server side - the notes still existed on my accounts from circa 2009 when I came back to the game this year, with a totally new computer.

Update: everything SEEMS to be back to normal today, logged in my main 3, tooled around a bit… no issues… logged in my alt 3, tooled around quite a lot… no local or chat issues that I noted (though they’re only in local/corpchat, no other channels like my mains are in)…
Had 1 more triple socket disconnect today, but some radio I was streaming on the web also cut out, so this one was my ISP’s fault, at least. The ones on Sat/Sun this past weekend (and often on Saturday evenings USTZ in past weekends as well), however, were just EVE and nothing else I was doing online… so either an EVE issue or something between US east coast pipe + London servers.

I’ve never lost a single one from any glitches… but my original toon, my main main as it were, did lose all her notepad folders once. Can’t remember if it was a patch day or just randomly out of nowhere, but all the notes were just in the unsorted category/folder… not a big deal, I named most of them with YYYYMMDD at the start, so they were still in a useful order, just… had done a bit of foldering as well.
My 1st alt (Sylvia here) has categories/folders still… and every toon after that (9 total now on 3 accts) I haven’t bothered with folders… probably because of that memory of those folders all up and dying one day.
But yeah, the notes themselves… work like a charm, forever! great for dragging chat channel links into chats, great for copy/pasting fleet adverts, good for storing fits if your fitting management is full, in-game OR zkillboard killmail links, etc. etc. etc. Oh, multiple overview profiles if you need/like… I’m sure I could think of a few more if I thought long enough here.
tl;dr: I loves me my in-game notepad.

I am still having local chat issue. One character is showing 33 people another is showing 13 in the same system.

Still broken for me in P Falls. 1 other in local, 10 in station. @CCP_Convict pls send help!
It’s been ok for a couple of days (yippee!) but broken again now. One character shows 4 in guest list, 3 in local - the other character shows the same 4 guests in the same station but only 2 in local.
The same is happening to me !!!
