Cursor flickers with Ubuntu 18.04 and Mesa 19.0.8

I’ve installed EVE using Steam, and I’m playing it using Steam Proton 4.2.9. Everything appears to be working just fine (glorious!), except the cursor is flickering like a madman when moving it.

I have tried the “Interval Immediate” setting and I’ve tried switching between fullscreen and windowed mode, both to no avail. I’ve also tried the three different graphic setting presets: The cursor continues to flicker.

Anybody got a fix for that specific issue?

Ubuntu 18.04 (HWE enabled)
Kernel 5.0.0-23-generic
Mesa 19.0.8
CPU Ryzen7 2700X
3D card: AMD RX480
