Well, hello there.

I just finished cleaning Amarr space from Highway, Refugee and Drone Assembly sites.

285 sites/ 8 escalations/ Total loot worth: 448mil isk/ Total Time invested: 29h.

This is tracking of my own DED escalation hunting to see if there is any value to it. For now- NOT AT ALL.

Continuing later.

I just did two T1 abyss in a frigate, in 15minutes and made as much of ISK as I did in 5h session today doing DED escalation hunting.

Do not do DED sites, it is not worth it.

Well, I joined a corp and went to null…

This is the result of doing DED Sansha Den 5/10:

345 sites/ 6 escalations/ Total loot worth: 1,3 Bil isk/ Total time invested 26h/ Total loss of ships: 850mil.

I am giving up. These DED sites are either rigged or 5% chance for escalation is hugely overrated, OR( and this is most likely) game devs made some stupid way of making RNG system that is somehow screwed and it does not work properly…

EDIT after…ahm IDK it is end of April, do your math.

I did about 200 DED sites extra, in NULL space, came to understand how to BLITZ Havens and I got one( 1) escalation from 8/10 that gave me absolute nothing in loot.

So I never again will do DED again since it is total waste of time and money invested in game.

I did, however do Relic sites, which gives me about 100mil per hour WHEN I can find sites that are not previously looted, and when I go for them immediately after the downtime sometimes( I said SOMETIMES, like once in two weeks, after I try to farm relics after DT about 3 times per week) even get 500mil from it.

Relics are WAY BETTER activity to earn isk, then DED crap.

PI in null can farm you 3,5bil per month IF you do it on a daily basis AND your ALL three toons in an account are doing it, AND you need about 1,5h daily to achieve this. And I do mean EVERY DAY OF THE MONTH, now- is that worth it? To me, absolutely not. To you? IDK.

Obviously, if you have gila skills ALL AT 5 with ALL supporting skills AT 5 and ALL high grade implants, you can do T6 abyss and dwarf all and any isk income. BUT BE AWARE WHAT I JUST WROTE DOWN- ALL SKILLS AT 5! ALL IMPLANTS high/medium! GILA FIT AT LEAST 2.5bil.

Then you get 100mil isk per run(NOT 200, NOT 300) you get 100mil per run AVERAGE.

Meaning, you need to do at least 20 T6 abyss to get to that 100mil, sometimes you will get 500 mil, but then you will get 5 runs with less then 70 mil per run- when it is all added up and divided, after cost of abyss filaments, you will earn 100mil per run. But to get there, you need to “pay” for omega time for at least 3.5 years.

And that is it.

Now, how to blitz havens: you need 3 Marchiel( I think that is the name of it) bombers, each 3.5bil worth and you will finish one Haven in as much time as game needs to spawn in the NPC ships, due to fact all of them spawn at same exact spot). I personally never did it, but I saw it happening and it is funny to see end game PVE being simple and very, very easy.

Could it be that some sites you do cannot escalate, or cannot escalate in high sec space, or if they do it’s at a lower rate?

Just guessing a bit, based on your data.

I also read on the wiki something about escalations spawning in lower security status systems. Could it help your escalation chance to run sites in systems surrounded by lower security systems?

Maybe someone else who does farm escalations in HS knows better.

I’m no expert on escalations but did farm some in null sec a while ago.

I recall some sites don’t escalate at all. And the sites that did escalate according to the wiki occasionally gave me escalations at a low and random rate, as expected.

And in the end besides spawning rules it’s all very random. You might just be unlucky.

Sometimes players mistakenly view an escalation as just getting an expedition but if a Commander spawn shows up, that’s also an escalation…

Most people consider expeditions, the message of another site at another place, to be escalations.

When people talk about a ‘5% escalation chance’, does that include the times there is a commander spawn instead of expedition?

If the combined chance is 5% then the chance of expeditions itself may be lower.

Getting an expedition is rare, getting a Commander spawn is less rare however both can be considered as site escalations since most of the time the sites don’t escalate…

Basically a Commander spawn is a mini-escalation of the site…

I am using eve wiki and their table( Combat site - EVE University Wiki), for space I was in NPCs are Sansha and Drones.

I only am doing three sites-

Sansha Hideaway( escalation into DED 3/10)

Sansha Refuge( escalation into DED 3/10)

Drone Assembly( escalation into DED 3/10).

I am doing it in Domain, 0,5-0,8 security only.

I have very big problem with the sentence “being unlucky”.

Last time( about half a year ago) I left the game because I was getting miserable T5 abyss loot.

Literally garbage.

And then also people told me I had “bad luck” or strait on told me I am lying and making stuff up.

So here you go, you tell me.

Yesterday i got 6 escalations and made 400mil- after 15h of play time.

Today I played about 6h and after 76 sites I got 1 escalation that I still have to do.

Talking about throwing work free days away.

What do you mean?

What commander and when, in escalation itself?

There are two bosses, one on first gate with key and other one in the bulk of enemies in between 4 sattelites.

Or do you mean somewhere else?

I know I got escalation because pop up is shown and I get a tab under the “travel” one.

Yes. pop up gets shown and site itself is up to 8 jumps away.

% for that to happen is 5%, eve wiki says so.

Yes, but that escalation is not even worth checking, I see online most people get in these small sites are few million and 3,4,5mil is not worth fly time.

Unless I read something wrong.

You could just ask? HS drone escalation is a total waste of time regarless how many escalations you get, long and hardly ever drops anything worth doing it. Like you have better chances finding one casually scanning around than trying to get escalation. Still not worth it.

Sansha 3/10? Well at least you can finish it fast. From 8 possible centii a-type modules that can drop only 1 have very good value, 2 are ok and the rest are crap. Lets say all deadspace modules have same chance to drop plus same chance for escalation to drop just an OPE(based on my experience chances to get only OPE are way higher). Adding here 5% to escalate from base anomaly we get pathetic 1,65% to get ok+ value in deadspace modules from the anomaly AT BEST. Add travel time and competition, it would be impossible for you to get acceptable isk/h there.

That “yesterday” was 15h long session. Do you think 400mil for 15h of play time is OK? Really?

“Today” session was about 12h, I got 4sessions and got 4x 416k( not mil- but k).

I must be doing something wrong, because if this is normal then this is not worth playing.

What when I start working again and can play only 30min to 1h per two days? I will need toplay whole year to get a bil?

I understand you, I do.

But two things you did not consider:

A) I am an alpha account.

B) I CAN NOT AFFORD to lose ship to gankers at the moment( yes, HS is also filled with gankers BUT not as nearly as LS and about the same as NS and obviously less then in WH).

But my biggest problem is that I started doing this because of great video by Bonkers y2k, 4 years old- he was doing this and his loot is FAR BETTER then mine( not in price, but in ammount of it).

That is why I think CCP nerfed LOOT.

Yes indeed, and welcome to Eve…

CCP has been constantly adjusting the Loot Drops for a very long time, and yes, each time they do it, they nerf it a little bit more…

In the past they’ve even posted about watching loot drops and adjusting them when they think it’s necessary, especially with heavily used content, events and any newly implemented content…

Their mindset is to keep players logged into the game which helps boost game stats for their stockholders…

Is this a thread about escalation chances?

Or is it about ratting loot value?

I get the feeling the thread is mainly about venting frustration, and that you’re not having fun playing the game like you currently do.

Have you considered trying something else in the game?

Personally my enjoyment of the game went up a lot when I stopped caring too much about the specific amount of ISK I earned for various activities and instead did what I thought was fun at the time.

I made this post because after 119 sites I got no escalation and I was under impression that I am doing something wrong, because 119 sites without escalation is absurd.

TODAY I am at 147 site with 3 escalation and loot from those escalation is 12 million total.

I made this so that I do not loose my mind, but it seems that game is just not worth my time.

I do not know how to make isk, I want ISK for to buy ships and have them in garage.

I like that.

Also I love to mine and I want to plex my few characters…but fk me this is so hard to earn 100mil isk, let alone 3 bill needed per account…

So yes, it is about venting and maybe someone from CCP will see it and do something about the damn loot.

IDK man, I would just love to immerse myself into the game and escape my life for some time.

Yes? Why wouldn’t it be?

If you’re not finding the activity to be adequately rewarding, do something else. There isn’t any game problem to be solved here, you’re just deliberately choosing to spend large amounts of time hoping to hit several favorable RNG rolls in sequence.

If you want steady income, there are plenty of activities that aren’t nearly as luck dependant. Even abyssals (which, no, the expected loot has not appreciably changed, regardless of what you imagine) will be more reliable than what you’re doing.

If I wanted to make ISK on an alpha account and I didn’t want to be bored to tears, I’d probably do faction war, myself.

I think I see the source of the frustration.

Random rewards is one thing, but when you’re setting yourself under high pressure to earn enough ISK before the deadline of having to grind again for a similar outrageous amount of ISK I would to get frustrated with every disappointment too, even small ones.

Why not just play as Alpha, ignore the idea of PLEXing and chill in a few Alpha-friendly ships with whatever rewards you get?

Well, yes my goal is to pay for plex with my game time, that is what game offers and that is the reason I play.

If you play for your reasons and you are happy with it, that is fine- but that is not the problem we are talking about here.

I cant believe you are OK with 15h of gameplay to net you such a low reward.

I dont know anything about Faction war, will check it out. What I heard is that everyone is free to kill you, anywhere in space, and if so that is not so good. ESPECIALLY if loot is lame like in escalation hunting.

I have about 3000 abyss runs behind me, it is boring and after experiencing profits from T5 and T6 lower tiers are just not…appealing.

Last burnout was because of me losing ships due to server crashes and ccp telling me I am at fault and they did not want to give me back my ships and guy was rude and that is whole another story that I do not want to go into now.

Anyway, will check faction war.
