Só our characters will can landing I a paradise island like this and take some taning in the future, its kind of cool
A months subscription £9.99
A months worth of PLEX £16.99… they earn more for every PLEX turned into game time than they do for a subscription.
Every single PLEX on the market came from us.
Quick question, when will this “collaboration” begin effectively notiable so that we know it has begun to change who owns the IP?
Feels like Disney buying Starwars … to do even greater.
I think so too. Basically there is not a word about it, but what else can be worth so much than IP with thousands of players playing daily?
I just hope they will add Walking in stations. HAhaha. At least. On your dead body CCP.
Yeah, no unlimited injectors, no rorqual scaling…nothing game breaking.
I told y’all weeks ago. But oh no, CCP would never give it up amirite. Oh no, it would never go through the Pearl doors into the Abyss. And certainly it wouldn’t be done for so little in split packaging. With irc on coldfront in denial I let it rest until you got wind of it. Now, you have.
At least there is an attempt now to wrap it up in marketing terms of partnering. But let’s be honest, those who have a little bit of industry experience, whether it is that of venture capital driven development or the gaming industry, know quite well the difference between marketing, presentation and the bottom line reality.
Will EVE die? No.
Will EVE change? Yes.
Will it grow? No.
Will it become more of a niche? Yes.
Will it be tailored to new and exciting player behaviour where PVP is the Holy Grail but the required Grind is so discouraging that Shortcuts become a necessity of acces, speed and ability? Yes.
I wonder for how long this was in the making. Considering the changes to Serenity, I wonder if that was all part of the same plan. These things usually don’t happen ad hoc, it’s probably been in the making for a while.
It may also be that they don’t see EVE as profitable, but want to use technologies that CCP developed, be it in the context of EVE or other IPs.
Also they now acquired the customer data of at least a couple hundred thousand gamers which they can use for dedicated campaigns.
Back to finances:
Plan was to sale CCP in 2016 for 950 M$, bud they miscalculated and manage only to sale CCP in 2018 for 450 M$ !!!
Points at Abyssal Deadspace (haha) and mutaplasmids that made a shitload of expensive items turn into hákarl.
(basically icelandic rotten fish meat)
I’m not going to lie, this news worries me, the blog is worded that its a partnership but at the end of the day we all know that someone has to be the parent, and while i think CCP’s motives are, relatively speaking, pure, i cannot say the same for pearl, BDO “seems” ro be holding somewhat steady, albeit with only about 12k players at peak (according to steam), which isn’t insignificant to be sure but its not exactly sky high, what guarantees does CCP have that they will NEVER compromise to allow P2W elements in to the game, because players are going to need that guarantee
You are probably right. The whale hunt begins.
WiS in such case would be not a thing they would add, even when Pearl abyss have already infrastructure to make such thing.
Jut a simple letter to EVE future “F”
Wait, isn’t that already?
Also, lol CCP.
“Abyssal Deadspace”… good one. We can’t say they didn’t blink.

It can not be “partnership” when Pearl Abyss bought and owe CCP
Is this good or bad news ?
I’m wondering if this was to prove the game can handle instanced combat, which can easily be made P2W. I expect to see any NEX special items usable in such space first.
Inversely, if they think CCP is going to help them penetrate Black Desert more into Western markets, they are going to be dissappointed, as CCP marketing is lamentable
CCP license to run EVE in China, however, might be lucrative/valuable, and the know-how/connecrtions they have with partners there operating in Chinese market.
Its infamously difficult to penetrate Chinese markets without getting very elusive rights to operate there from Chinese officials.
Duh. For quite a while now. The old ones have been shopping for quite a while. Some even tossed in the towel and walked away. Those of us who have been with EVE since beta should really have recognised the signs righ there.
Black Desert Online is a game which tries incredibly hard to not come across as P2W. The reality is that Pearl Abyss fails at the pretending part. Map out the grind requirements, map out the ability requirements and it is stupendously clear.
EVE is profitable. Even if CCP has been banking on a few things which are averse to the pre-F2P emergent dynamic model (which has had its consequences for the books). But EVE can be more profitable.
It will however have to change.
How? Ever heard of the expression boiling frogs? That’s been the policy thusfar. And the temperature has been going up.
That only ever ends one way, as it only ever goes in one direction.
Serenity was an unintended little leak, with those guys digging into those documents. They are the same ones for TQ. So, figure it out mate.
