April Fool’s joke? Not anymore…
Ah, but that is religion! I know, sounds corny, but belief structures and activist behaviour are the cornerstones of Apple’s research in their marketing and services development. So a slightly different angle, but ironically it is something which would fit the bill very well for CCP’s evolution of marketing as EVE evolves.
First thing PA needs to do, after canning Falcon, is can the CSM program.
Wait…why can the CSM?
Listening to all the negative things I hear about BDO, I have to say that Falcon seems to be the perfect fit for a community manager under PA. And the CSM is a perfect representation of obedient customers for the master, customers who do not complain or riot and instead just swallow the coolaid so that they can keep ratting in Delve.
Rule of Acquisition 48 The bigger the smile, the sharper the knife.
Why? They work for free, are part of CCP’s marketing, advocate everything CCP introduces, have zero impact on CCP itself but have a measurable effect rate on customer signals and stress.
By current responses from those who have played BDO, the owners won’t even know about this forum, let alone care.
That hurts my insides in ways I can’t, hold on, pukes in mouth
Pretty much. That said, Falcon’s job isn’t easy. And it’ll get harder, and carry more responsability. While opinions may vary, he is a professional in what he does.
Community carries a different meaning in these matters. It’s not what people think it is. It’s messaging control for direction and reach. Nothing more.
Oh god does this mean ‘pay to win’ ships and mods because that will kill EvE.
They are looking for cash. It’s business and that’s expected. Can’t make games if you don’t pay rent, but we have no guarantees they wont screw the core game mechanics to increase the bottom line. EvE may be dead in a couple years like so many other MMOs that succumb to short sighted management theories.
CCP and White Wolf said much the same thing, a decade ago. How’d that work out for White Wolf?
Man, best response so far. I’m crying.
Nah. It’s way more subtle than that. Just play BDO for a month without buying any shortcut. That will clarify everything.
LOL,
