First off CCP was not independent in that they were owned by 2 venture capital firms.
Second, there is no way for PA to come out on top, IMO, with doing to EVE what they did to BDO. My guess is the EVE community is much more sensitive to that sort of stuff. I know I’d quick pretty darn quickly if they started monkeying around with hangars and cargo bays for example.
And your steps 1-3 won’t work. My guess is the value of the assets is nowhere near $425 million. That figure is based on a stream of income.
Now maybe PA is just that dumb and they’ll kill EVE quickly and thoroughly…but they just placed a $425 million bet…they’d have to be extremely dumb.

How does BDO have so many millions (claimed) of players, if the frustrated complaints about P2W are so numerous? Is that “millions” figure based on “I tried BDO for a month about 2 years ago and quit” ?

Okay mate, I bet pearls success on black desert is based on local community, as Korean based, and with huge amount of subscriptions, the total gross amount is not hard to imagine, its Asian community and its a localised company, we can’t judge anything about game development upon that, simply they served well locally, there’s much more examples to that,
There’s a Chinese movie last year just locally broke the record of cinematical history, it grossed around 1billion in total and seems over than any hobbit movies, but we can’t judge on any quality of film industry upon that, its not about filming in that case, its about their own community developed right at timing to spike a outcome to serve their own.

Don’t kid yourself, Plex for Isk is P2W, you can try and tell yourself it isn’t but it doesn’t get much more P2W, real money for in game money where you can literally buy anything the game offers, EVERYTHING even skill points, that is the very definition of pay to win.
It’s just been accepted by the player base as “in game money for game time”.
Heck, even kill boards and news articles do the real money conversion for kills and battles.
Keep telling yourself it’s not P2W.

Its not P2W, you can get plex via isk.
but the plex was bought by a player with real money, just because you buy it second hand doesn’t mean it’s not pay to win. now if plex could be bought from ccp with isk then you might have a point, but it cannot, it must be purchased with real money by someone.

used to play eve for many years and at some point the steam was just out and never looked back…
seeing that its going down with Eve is such a shame… but no big surprise. Its just to slow for modern gamers and the pay models rather weak…
HOWEVER… being bought by some amateurs doing shovelware? … thats more then sad!
You know - why didn’t you forget that freaking attempts on FPS … and rather done SEE SOURCE 2
SPACE- BATTLE - SHIPS… in ““3D”” on a 2D field… - i mean thats for the WORLD WAR fans… ANNND THE SCI FI ONES… space pirates are tits… warhammer 40k also got a giant base you could swallow …
Free to play like WOWs… - premium ships and whatnot… and done! Simple as that.
Your polish- which is one of a kind - and such a solid gameplay… i wish so bad that has been it.
Instead wargaming did this freaking space ship mode for a few days for april fools and thats that.
