[Discussion] PLEX and Omega price changes feedback thread

(post deleted by author)

your country is no special when comes to the increase. how about you actually add it up and stop the non-sense and stop thinking your special when your not

You seem unreasonably hostile, I suggest a nice cup of tea to calm your spirits.

Your price increase is a direct result of your dwindling player base due to your disastrous scarcity/age of prosperity re work, many miners and indy players have left because of this along with myself.Goodluck and goodbye!!!

Add more content to justify this move. Please.

If given more content this would make sense.

I’m sat on several years of game time on my one account, because Mac user and game time deals, so my skin is very much out of the game on this one.

It’s not really fair to say it’s ā€œonlyā€ $12.49 per month a year to people who paid $8 per month for our game time before. That’s still $4.50 per month more than previously, and CCP gets to keep the collective interest from our money.

Bro they F this ā– ā– ā– ā–  up period!
They will loose alot of paying customers (that includes me), couse ill just either stop as i mentioned in other posts here or ill simply unsub all the accounts, and stick down the the main, let the omega curently run out, then like i sed either stop or play as alpha and make the isk ingame for the plex as i have donne before for other accounts, but to be honest i pretty much had it with all of this its so anoying that yeat again they a screwing us up. This game is NOT worth 20 bucks per sub Period!

We can all ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  all we want CCP dont give 2 F**ks about what we think they consider us cows to be milked! This game will DIE and CCP is the one killing it!

Especially when it’s expensive swill compared to the golden nectar that is Tim Horton’s coffee.

OK, then please clarify the following for me:
Why is that good to:

  • have much less people in space
  • less getting produced
  • get the ISK velocity down
  • get a increase by Isgen price of 600%.
  • that no more cpaitals can be built
  • all ships get more expensive
  • there are fewer fights
  • to remove ore minng from the null
  • make ratting less atractive and so creat less targets

I could go on… or just ask: Why is it good to take so many playstayls and fun from the players out of the game?!

Becouse thats it what was done by the Rattati administration over the last years and what they now want to charge us 33% more for!

We are talking about a person, who said in end of last year that the economy of eve is in a good state now that the stocks are mostly depleted. Rattati believes that a healthy economy is defined by how much is kept in stock!
He has also in public interview compared the rorqual situation to ā€œIt’s like a factory moving into a small town and just killing all the jobs.ā€ (Interview: As EVE Online Players Protest, CCP Responds To Feedback Regarding Proposed New Dawn Mining Changes | MMORPG.com)
All examples that the person in charge of the economy of eve online doesn’t know anything thing about economics.

But go ahead, if it’s all good, convince me.

The UK price will go up to what they already charge to move characters between accounts or double train £17.00 per month.

I’m glad someone has taken the time to put the price increase in the perspective it deserves. My annual plan, which ends in April 2023, will only see me pay an increase of $1.54 USD per month which is $1.90 CDN (at the exchange rate currently at 0.76752), around the cost of one Tim Horton’s large coffee. The proposed two year plan really has my attention though.

I understand for some buying sub time in bulk is not a budget option due to income reasons. I get that. There’s a lot of you out there who have families to feed and are having a heck of a time to make ends meet, especially now thanks to the pandemic and the war. You have my sympathies.

Whatever each of you decide on how to handle the increase, I wish you the best in that choice.

One one hand you say they’ll loose a lot of paying customers, on the other you say you’ll make enough isk ingame to PLEX you’re account. Where do you think that PLEX comes from? It just magically appears in game… PLEX is paid for by others and then seeded on the market. So if you play Omega, CCP get’s it’s money one way or the other!

As for PLEXing ingame via isk… You might have noticed that since the announcement went live (22nd of April) PLEX became 15% more expensive ingame (in isk). I’m not saying you can’t make 1.7B/month with a single character, but there’s a reason why you haven’t done so before…

If you’re going to be paying $20/month you are either strapped for cash and can’t afford a longer running subscription OR you don’t have faith in that you’ll be playing long term. If you play long term, you’ve been paying $131.40/year, there was no 2 year subscription option. Now you can pay $270.99/2years, that translates to $135.50/year. Year to year that’s a $4.10 price increase. And if you have a bit of patience/time, you can probably buy such a subscription at a discount later this year (we have yearly sales on Omega)…

Now, I can understand that not everyone can pay $271 per account up front for two years. If you can’t, go Alpha for a year and save for that two year subscription… Or stop playing EVE for a while, instead get some extra work to pay for that subscription… How do you think I got a second account in 2007, save and do some extra work!

Back when we started (2005) the first month already was $20…

If you run multiple accounts, it might get really expensive, very fast. Then maybe don’t run multiple accounts…

A tip: A while back I got into Abyssals and learning that I used an Alpha character, because if I can do it with an Alpha character, I can certainly do it in an Omega. That was a fun experience!

To put this in the perspective it actually deserves. The people most upset about this can’t afford Tim Horton’s coffee.

This game is full of long term unemployed, sick and disabled, as it is in every MMO. If you can’t leave the house and/or have a tiny amount of money then $14.99 per month is an affordable way to spend your time - these people cannot afford the yearly subs which is why they have always paid a higher amount month by month. $5 extra on top of rising energy prices is going to break a lot of people, the choice between something that connects you to the world or being able to cook is not like dude have one less starbucks a week rol ah lol a lol

If you can’t empathise with that then I don’t know what to say.

Had you took the time to actually read my point, you would have seen that I did show the empathy you accused me of not having:

Well done!

then why repeat the smug tim hortons line to start with? you said the coffee thing was putting it in perspective, everything after that was negated by that.

There was nothing smug about it. I was putting the cost in perspective. I could have used a chocolate bar or some other item.

Nothing negated, and you’re not in any position to dictate what my true intentions are.

you have never ever heard the dogwistle right wing people use to justify house price inflation and the rent culture ā€œbecause if millennials stopped buying starbucks/avocado toast they could afford the deposit for a houseā€ ?
