In a classic CCP move, they have yet again failed to keep something up to date (the price of subscriptions due to inflation) and after it’s a day late and a dollar short, they ask the players to pick up the slack. Cool CCP. Where content?

well you cant compare it that easy…
i mean on that you could say too that you can play FFXIV (i love it) for 155,88$ a year for 40 Chars what means 3,90$ per Char FOR A YEAR. or 143,88$ for 8 = 17,98$ per char for a year.
I mean on that price i would increse my chars and keep subbed forever ;p
I get every one is beyond pissed at this, as we all should be, but lets be honest with ourselves. The only thing that will wake CCP up from the absolute travesty that is the current state of the game is to not rage on a forum but speak with our wallets. CCP knows if this company goes under they will never get another dev job. CCP on their resume will guarantee that at least.

And that is how Eve dies… for real this time. There is literally no way I will be resubbing, plexing, or otherwise dropping in for a “what’s changed” month or two… A complete lack of value in regards for the asking price of 20 dollars a month.

With all due respect, this is not a thing any of us should be angry of. It’s obvious CCP’s been trying to gather alternative streams of revenue at the cost of the playerbase, as much of that isn’t appreciated. We don’t want NFT’s, we don’t want them to bleed the cash from whales, we don’t want them to reinforce the idea that newbros can recoup their losses in the game by opening their wallets, so they up the sub price. Fair enough imo. Playercounts have dropped, but the servers and staff are still running at the same capacity all the same.
To me, the price change is evidence that CCP isn’t in a financially good spot, which is probably why they kept beating around the bush about their unpopular changes recently. If they need to bump the sub costs to keep the game afloat, i will accept that. I’d rather pay a little more to keep EVE alive without them trying to nickle and dime those that are vulnerable than to see it shut down.
So if this is their more straightforward option of ensuring they can keep the business afloat, i don’t mind it. As long as CCP cuts the crap and keeps the playerbase happy instead of dropping bullsh*t changes, i can chime in an extra bit of money every month. Gladly, even.

Why would spenders spend in this game? Everything they have ever bought to confer real power has been nerfed into oblivion. This goes back and starts with Supers being able to be killed by a goon horde of kestrels and a couple dictors just because enough whined that there “shouldn’t be solopwnmobiles” in Eve… never mind how much emergent gameplay that produces.
So, we’re shadow deleting posts now? How am i surprised??

Unsubbing omega is definitely not the end of the game; while multiboxing is restricted a few ships can easily tidi a system. To see the real endgame pick a random system other than Jita, stuff thousands of alphas, ungroup highs and destroy the server just like what major nullsec blocs did in Delve.
It might be the first increase for US, but EU and GBP had theirs few years back, this is a second one. They already use a 1 for 1 or near enough exchange rate for some backwards reason I’m sure. They don’t even have basic systems in place for people who have bank accounts in one currency but move around for personal/work reasons, so I am shafted by an exchange rate constantly as well.
They have been since the thread started. Otherwise it would be at 1200 posts by now instead of mid 700’s

I’m glad you’re making a decision on how to handle your personal finances, and whether or not to continue to pay for your subscription.
But we aren’t exactly in the dark when it comes to CCP’s finances, they release a quarterly report that shows profits.
Eve is still profitable. they aren’t in a position where they ‘have’ to do this to stay alive. the quarterly reports prove that.
