Dispelling The Hype Over Alien Life

Altara, how do you plan on using the scientific method to prove that life doesn’t exist in the Universe?

Using the six elements of the Scientific Method below, show everyone the steps you plan on taking to prove that life doesn’t exist.

Scientific Method Steps

The scientific method is a step-by-step problem-solving process. These steps include:

  1. Observation. This involves observing and gathering information from a certain aspect of the natural world.

Altara : what observations and information gathering have you collected from a certain aspect of the natural world to prove that life doesn’t exist on other planets?

  1. Asking a question. Here, you form relevant and testable questions based on your observations.

Altara : what relevant and testable questions are the base of your observations?

  1. Forming a hypothesis. This involves proposing an explanation of how or why the natural phenomenon is happening. It can be an assumption rather than a fact.

Altara: Why is the natural phenomenon of life not existing on other planets happening?

  1. Prediction. This is what you think will happen based on your hypothesis.

  2. Testing the prediction. With testing, you carry out an experiment to test how accurate your prediction is.

Altara: How will you carry out your experiment to test how accurate your prediction is?

  1. Iteration. This involves looking back on the whole process and the results you achieved to make new hypotheses or predictions.

Altara : What new hypotheses or predictions from the results you achieved will help you make new predictions about life not existing in the Universe?

God, I love my scissors.

Scientific Method (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy)

Different views on what is known, how it is known, and what can be known are connected. Plato distinguished the realms of things into the visible and the intelligible (The Republic , 510a, in Cooper 1997). Only the latter, the Forms, could be objects of knowledge. The intelligible truths could be known with the certainty of geometry and deductive reasoning.

Intelligible Truth: I exist as a human being alongside millions of other species of life on Earth. A rock carrying all of the DNA and RNA for life to exist on Earth was recently discovered, billions of years after a similar rock came to Earth, from someone in space, and seeded life. Therefore, and deductively speaking, since more than one rock with DNA and RNA has been discovered, after the rock that seeded life on Earth, seeded life on Earth, then the same parameters and causalities that existed in the same time frame that the events surrounding Earth came to be, all the way back to the Big Bang, would also exist in other galaxies and even in our own galaxy.

There is more to the theory of understanding how alien life can exist on other planets that are proven by the very existence of life on Earth.

If I may, his goal doesn’t seem to be to prove life doesn’t exist and he hasn’t said anything of the sort. I’m pretty sure most of us think there could be aliens out there but there is no evidence which is fact.

You can use all the fancy words and methods you like but it is still not proof that life does or doesn’t exist outside of the solar system.

The same goes for you as well Aaron.

Using the six methods above, promote your premise, for life not existing outside of the Sol system.

As of December 2015, the confirmed liquid water in the Solar System outside Earth is 25–50 times the volume of Earth’s water (1.3 billion km3), i.e. about 3.25-6.5 × 1010 km3 (32.5 to 65 billion km3) and 3.25-6.5 × 1019 tons (32.5 to 65 billion tons) of water.

Therefore, since comets and ice asteroids exist across the Universe, in orbit around gas giants and because Earth is not the center of the Universe, life will exist on other planets.

Your number one problem Aaron is you are a book scientist or someone who picks a favorite scientist and then promotes said agend as if it was your own agenda.

You, like Altara have to be correct 100% of time, which means you don’t accept failure in science at all, which also proves, once again, that you are not a scientist but a follower, a stringer. All you are able ro do is craft sentences of popularity based on what others have stated, because you want to be popular, just like your father.

Because if you were a scientist you would know that science is not exact. Science is an experiment.

“I didn’t fail 1000 times. The lightbulb was an invention with 1000 steps.” - Thomas Edison

Thankfully for humanity, Edison didnt stop because of b.s. that comes from anti-scientists like Altara and Aaron.

How many times do you have to be told ? If you had even the remotest inkling of a grasp of science, you’d know that the burden of proof rests entirely on the person claiming the existence of some phenomenon.

You have now been told this fact several dozen times in this thread. I would thus ask that ISD Drew close the thread as it now seems to be little more than trolling. There’s only so many times one can argue that 2 + 2 is not equal to 5, before it is evident the problem is not the maths but the person making the argument.

He seems to think that just cutting and pasting some segment from Wikipedia will rescue him. It’s all quite comical really. In the back of my mind I just keep hearing Rudyard Kipling’s famous phrase ’ If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken, twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools’.

I’m actually promoting an agenda of logic which everyone on this planet should be following. However I do like to listen to Brian Cox from the UK.

Can we convict people of crimes with no evidence? is it okay to convict someone because we “think” they did it?

I’m happy to be wrong, in fact I learn more by being completely wrong, and as I have clearly mentioned before I think there might be alien life out there but I realise I have no proof to support that claim. All me and Altara are right about is that there is no proof which can be believed beyond reasonable doubt that there is life out there, neither of us has said there isn’t life out there.

Yes, this is a great attitude towards work and investigation.

Indeed, I hope the believers of the existance of Alien life never stop looking for proof, I hope that anyone with an invention never stops because they hit a brick wall, I hope they can work smarter and find a way around the problem.

I’m just trying to follow a logical path, and logic is actually the foundation of science. I do believe in science.

Actually I had to laugh at the Edison quote, as there is ample historical evidence that Edison didn’t invent the light bulb and others got there first.

Yes, I think someone else created the fillament, and I think there were issues to do with race and culture being the reason why the other inventors were not publicised.

There is a similar story with gaming consoles, if you look on google/youtube you will find factual footage of who created the first gaming console. The grandfather of gaming consoles was found accidently by a youtuber/tiktokker when he attended a gaming convention, the video inspired the gaming community to recognise the man as the grandfather of gaming consoles which he recieved before he sadly passed away.

I know this is somewhat off topic but it is worth a look: Behind the Doodle: Gerald "Jerry" Lawson's 82nd Birthday - YouTube

I do like Google Doodle, they aren’t afraid to talk fact.

Not a first console, not even first cartridge, but first cartridges with ROM. So people could change games on console, and ROM was good in that the game could be completely different. Before that people had idea of cartridges (or game cards) but they were without ROM, like with Magnavox Odyssey.

Cartridges with ROM were next step that contributed to console games being what they are now.

But its actually debated who was there first with idea, as the Fairchild Channel F - Wikipedia
was another team creation initially, and it had interchangeable ROMs on boards.
Lawson and team were just working with this idea later.

You can’t be a believer of science; belief is the basis of religion. Just like you said you are a follower of logic yet believe in science. You own cancels yourself out.

Nana, what are your ideas on how life would exist elsewhere in the Universe?
