DLSS still not Good

I run 3 windowed eve clients on 2 monitors. Using a 3070 ti nvidia card with latest drivers.

If I just jump from gate to gate for about 10-15 minutes on each client, it starts to slow down so bad that it’s nearly unplayable. You literally have to close all clients and start them up again.

Have repeated this many times over with same result and had to fall back to FSR. Why is DLSS still not working well in eve?

For the same reason that DX12 does not: CCP cannot implement it properly.

as critical as you are of CCP why don’t you join their team?

Is it working for any game? Aren’t there a bunch of memes about it for every game?

DLSS isn’t build for games where multiple clients can be run simultaneously. That isn’t CCP’s fault.

I don’t mind that it doesn’t work with multiple clients and that would be fine, but why doesn’t CCP actually tell people that, rather than watch them struggle through it and eventually give up. I just don’t like wasting my time because they are too afraid to actually say anything, in what amounts to a very common usage scenario.

They dont have to tell you anything.

CCP will assume that each and every player is playing on one monitor…even though that isnt the case obviously.

We are the beta testers…we always have been. Its unfortunate but thats gaming development today.

Pretty sure CCP has more than enough data suggesting that a significant percentage of the player base is using multiple monitor setups. How that plays into the performance of DLSS I cannot tell.

Also, probably more often than not when a gaming studio implements new technologies for their games it is done so with the help of the Engineers behind the technology being implemented. While DLSS isn’t exactly new, many of the features that it offers are. The case is likely that CCP is trying to implement DLSS on their own without help from Nvidia Engineers and thus they have to work out DLSS’s quirks on their own, which takes time and knowledge that they have to acquire in the process.

Of course they do, i vaguely mentioned that. CCP is also like every other developer in that they will always make sure the bare minimum works from their end, thats it. If most folks get even bigger results then thats a bigger win. If not, then the few scragglers out there will have to figure it out on their own.

And….how do you think they are going to do that.

Thats right…..its us testing it.

Not arguing against you, just adding context for those who may not understand how new gaming features are worked into games.
