When using Upscaling and Ray-traced, the client freezes

That day, I was performing a gate jump as usual. As I passed through the gate, the client suddenly froze. Although I could hear the ambient audio playing normally, the client screen completely stopped responding. I thought I might have encountered an occasional bug, so I forced the client to close and restarted it. After performing several more gate jumps, the issue occurred again—the client froze as the ship passed through the gate, with the audio still working but the screen frozen.

I began to suspect that the problem was related to Upscaling and Ray-traced.
I turned off Upscaling and Ray-traced, attempted over a dozen more gate jumps, and the issue did not reappear.

System: Windows 11 24H2
CPU: i7-13620H
Memory: 16GB DDR4 3200MHz (8GB+8GB)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop 8GB (Driver version: Game Ready 580.97)

Yesterday ive got the same issue. 2 time in a row after gate-jump or cyno-jump client freezes.

same here …. using DLSS max quality …. had to change itt , no issues so far …

I can’t live without NVIDIA DLSS, and going back to the original AMD FSR 1.0 feels really off. I can only hope the tech team fixes the issue soon.

Yep, I’m getting the exact same issue. Switched back to DX11 until CCP sort it.

CPU: Ryzen 7950X3D
GPU: RTX4090
RAM: 64GB
OS: Windows 11 24H2
Gfx Driver: Geforce 581.08 Game Ready

Same for me and the funny thing is that before that, the August 12th patch fixed DX12 problems for me and the Upscaling patch returned them…

This already happened on SISI during testing. Reported the bug and others said they had those freezes as well, a bit sad to see this go live like this. Makes the time I spent on SISI to find issues like this feel a bit like wasted effort. But well, I hope they fix it fast.
I was really exited to finally have DLSS, Raytracing and even Framegen in EVE. A bug like this takes the hype away.

Whilst travelling ~15 jumps today, with 2 characters. I have had to restart one character 3 times, and the other twice, as jumping through gates would cause visuals to freeze, and sound to continue.

All other Graphics settings low, medium or disabled

Yeah, same here, RTX 4070 on the board, FSR seems to work just fine though, only DLSS freezes the client.

It’s good that CCP have responded to issues with their newest feature.

2 computers, both freezing a third of the time when I change zones when DLSS enabled, just as mentioned by other users above. AMD FSR3 works fine. I also get a nice 10-15 second pause when switching to DLSS. AMD FSR3 only incurs a 3-second pause. I frequently use DLSS in many others games without issue on both system. Thanks for looking into it!
