Do I get Plex reward for joining the Navy? Does Navy fleets against Trigs?

From what I can understand, Caldari Navy is fighting triglavians, and Caldari Space is in bad
situation. Aside Plexes, is it a thing or is better EDI if one is to protect New Eden for good??
