it’s stagnated but players are playing less. I remember a time when the population in the summer time was like 45,000-65,000, now it stays at 18,000. The reason is because citadels has made players bored, and with all the super alliances growing old and mostly broken up by CCP, no one wants to empire build anymore. Think CCP needs to rethink how they restruict gameplay. Wormholes needs some new additions to encourage more solo play. Wormholes are so crowded now, no room for solo roams like you used to could

It’s non-recoverable at this point.
We will never see 45k-65k playercount, nor how the game was back then, ever again.
CCP/PA, are well aware of this, but trying to run the business nonetheless.
They will not deepfix any of the above, and simply provide more ways to spend cash for an ingame edge.
How did you manage to lose 2.5bn in a totally unfitted Ibis ? And it looks like you got ‘bored’ long before citadels, as there’s no sign of activity since 2013. I never cease to be amazed at the sheer number of people whining about Eve who clearly haven’t actually played the game in decades.

No need to pay, I can give you the same lesson for free:
Step 1: Join EVE, start to play, get ganked, complain about how cheesy it is for vets to gank newbies.
Step 2: Decide it’s easier to join a gank corp than to learn anything.
Step 3: Join the gank or merc corp of your choice, use the ship fits they tell you to use and do what they tell you do.
Step 4: Be part of the 100+ fleet taking out mostly weak, undefended targets.
Step 5: Claim all the damage the fleet does as your own ‘kills’ and the entire fleets destruction total as your “ISK destroyed”. Do mostly zero damage, but claim them all anyway.
Step 6: Start bragging about your kills, your ISK destroyed, and your “high DPS ship fits” every chance you get. Despite the fact that your fits and posts show you don’t understand things like damage application, damage resistance, or damage mitigation.
For this lesson, apparently worth 1bn ISK to some, its yours for the low low price of offering to give one newbie a hand at getting started.
