WIll be due to the increasing prosperity of the global south as the prosperity of the west diminishes as it isolates itself economically from the rest of the world.
I guess they just allow this thread to run rampant now. Sort of an “anything goes” kind of thread. Back there on March 5th, I thought it was a suicide mission for sure.
@Helmslianna basing meta data on ship name is interesting but my friends do that kanji because they think it looks cool. For example, one of my younger workers came in showing off his new tat some kanji glyph on his upper arm. I asked ( not being a kanji expert ), what does it mean? At the time, he confessed “it just looked cool” later on I heard about 7 different things it was suppose to say.
I don’t think so. Today you are lucky if the kids can speak English let alone write it. It just shows the lack of proper education in the world today.
Fly safe o7
I think you prevent people wasting their time…sorting out the wheat from the chaff and hopefully the population of actual risk takers ( rather than whiny carebears ) will increase.
Bad fit is one thing, but a bad pilot, now that’s an entirely different beast.
I think the biggest reason why players leave the game and never return are the gankers who monitor rookie systems and then follow the rookie to a mission site and gank them.
High Sec gankers with a reputation for ganking should not be allowed inside or within ten jumps of a rookie solar system.
The only problem is, High Sec gankers using VPN’s to mask their IP, creating an alt account, gathering intel on rookie systems and then leaving the game and bio massing the sneak account.
Nobody does that.
Oh look it’s the conspiracy theorist again.
What I am seeing the most, which disappoints me to no end, is overpowered ships swatting at flies. For example; there could be two guys loading goods into a semi-truck out in the middle of nowhere. Then this massive nuclear submarine rises up taking them both by surprise. The one guy jumps into the slow semi-truck and starts it up, as the other guy hops into a compact economy Toyota. The Toyota gets blasted into dust while the semi-truck rolls away. Then the U-boat commander cheers victory.
Confusing isn’t it?
That’s just pure nonsense you made up.
In reality, more noob ships are lost to NPCs than are ever lost to players.

I think it depends where you are, I don’t think Hisec and Losec are declining but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Nullsec declining and that is probably bleeding into wormhole space.
The reason for this? The blue donut, simply put EvE allows way too many pilots to befriend each other without consequence. This simply leads to hoarding of resources and attempts to wait out any times of famine like now without actually doing anything. This in turn makes tons of people from Null lead into stagnant gameplay. Their only recourse is to attack wormhole space which makes those people not want to play fighting sometimes massively overwhelming odds.
EvE is supposed to be dangerous, but is Null dangerous? How long of this fake danger before someone in Null asks themselves how dangerous is this really? Is it surprising to see someone reach what is considered “end game”, for them to go look for another game? What is there to look forward to? Large scale battles where you sit in tidi for 10 hours? Battles where the outcome is known before the fight happens? The reality is by allowing people to be friends with everyone, they aren’t enemies with anyone, and that is boring. On top of that, how much PLEX are people in Null really buying when resources are a plenty and when they are not they just wait it out? Don’t tell me the lack of people buying PLEX isn’t driving EvE inflation.
Do I think eves population is declining?
I have no way to know and can only guess.
I guess I don’t know an no other player can.
An idiotic thread/question when we all know that the data that could permit us to know is locked away in a CCP/PA vault.
This thread should’ve been closed on May 5th.
i think eve went to ■■■■ cause:
- expensive monthly fees
- 1 person can run xxx alts, should be limited to kinda 2-4 max and even thats a lot.
- content kinda dull
- still no balance between hi, lo, null
- did not scale out but selected to boost single systems with insane amount of isk making options which is pretty stupid, dont really get havens and sanctums…
- still too many RMTers
- once an alliance takes the moon, it holds the moon until the region gets taken over or alliances dies. Moon goo and belt ores should have never been static, but should have a rotation cycle, same as when wormholes pop up out of nowhere. 1 day theres promethium in a Delve system, until it gets depleted or cycles out, then appears somewhere else. the damn discovery probes would make more sense that way as well
- randomize the hell out of everything. not default it to a certain static value…
- should have gone with the no local sessions as it seems legit and scary for everyone. the biggest cry babies were the noobs and RMT asshoels.
- Stay Feral sucks donkey nuggets!!! (Just personal rant, nothing to do with the topic)
think it went downhill when the caps got introduced, should have only been freighters and carriers, and carriers is a big ■■■■■■■ maybe. also, messed it up with the jump bridges. wormholes seemed nice and proper for some time, probably still is nice. however I gave up when I saw 1 guy with 13 same name alts drop his armada on my Astero
also, after seeing all what I wrote, I realized that I think its fair to say that I see no reason to continue to pay and have quit the paid version of EVE until things get fixed…
Some folks try to make an issue of “the one ship I lost way back when”, but that loss was basically to send a video to CCP of a guy who NPC corp chat said was ganking people in Caldari starter system. I checked it out, sent the video - let CCP figure out if it was illegal or not.
That said, I don’t believe newbie ganking is common enough to have much impact on retention.
I dunno about that, newbies gank each other
Many try to join on alpha accounts. When they try omega, they lose the desire to play, thanks to the toxic community (this is already a legend on the Internet). The number of accounts is growing, but the number of active players is more or less at the same level. Stagnation is in full bloom.
And CCP is unable to attract and, more importantly, retain players.
And your know this, how?
