Does EULA cover offensive/rubbish behavior on Eve official forums?

I am seeing tons of negative posts in the threads with actual offensive behavior.
Thus, am curious, does it somehow being covered by EULA?
Does CCP/Moderators do anything to keep it under controls?

Yes.

You don’t need to agree to the EULA to post on the forums, but that really doesn’t matter. CCP owns and operates these forums and they moderate them according to the policies above. They do actively police the forums and there are mechanisms, including the report function, for you to bring things to their attention you think contravene the rules.

inb4 someone replies HTFU to OP :stuck_out_tongue:

To maintain order…

Lol.

I’ll add that they sometimes allow (or don’t act upon may be more correct) edge cases.

Maybe a rare and/minor violation in the heat of the moment will get you noticed by isd, but they may not do anything for that instance.

Beware of post flagging. If you get only a few flags from other players (no matter their intentions), you get a hidden “suspect” flag by CCP, which is turned on you on the smallest incident.

It is too late. They used to clean well the first day but day by day the moderators lost control to trolls. They should delete these forums except for the bazaar (as its required for characyer sales) and just redirect this forum to reddit.

Moderators are the trolls

Behold your future, capseleers. :snowflake:

Spend enough time here and you’ll soon see a pattern of who gets away with stuff and who gets banned.

Hint: Check the alliances of the posters that consistently get away with the most abusive posts.

I always find it fascinating when people make up these claims.

Especially now, as one cannot even see what corporation or alliance a player is in through the forums anymore. I’m not going to take the time to log in and check what corporation a player is in. Far better to simply judge the post and its intentions and go from there. Far more fair as well.

Probably a reason for that. And not one I’m going to go into in detail and earn myself a punishment for.

What I will say is that if you are legitimately saying that you don’t think favoritism is rampant in here then you are probably not very aware of basic human behavior.

Look back over the history of the game. Start with T20.

Of course. A terrible incident. I would be foolish to suggest that it has never happened in the past, as it has.

Internal Affairs was created from that disaster and they watch over members of CCP and ISD and monitor all actions performed by both. Even our player accounts.

That may be more about presentation than content; it’s possible to be very very nasty without actually breaking the rules.

I could link you a thread where a certain someone was boldly abusing the abusive language filter in at least five posts and when the thread was locked for something much more innocuous, not a single mention of it was made and he’s still posting in here today.

If it was allowed I could also post a link to an insta-ban for much less, just because the banner had a bug up his ass over previous posts by that specific poster.

So. No. Presentation is way down the list.

Also now I have to make a new posting alt as this will be deleted and a warning sent in the next few minutes.

I looked at the forum moderation policy, and I don’t really see anywhere where it states that you cannot swear. So I suppose everything is working as intended?

I can say ■■■■ and it’s fine. What I can’t, and never could, do is write fcuk, fuk, etc to get around the boxes.

Though I’ve even seen angry devs and ISD get on peoples’s cases for using it as intended. It always comes back to who it is that’s posting.

Hmm… Ok. Not sure what that would go under, but I suppose these are just minor offences people really don’t get banned for. I’ve seen more annoying offences, yet the dude is still in here posting on an admitted alt of said banned forum account.

Also, apparently I’m blind…

2. Specifically restricted content.
EVE Online holds ESRB Teen and PEGI 12 ratings. All content posted to the EVE Online forums must be teen rated.
In addition to this, the EVE Online forums are not for discussion of real life current affairs, news, politics or religion. Discussion should revolve around EVE Online and its community.
For these reasons, specific content is prohibited on the EVE Online forums. These are:

  • Pornography
  • Profanity
  • Real Money Trading (RMT)
  • Discussion of Warnings & Bans
  • Discussion of Moderation
  • Private communications with CCP
  • In-Game Bugs & Exploits
  • Real World Religion
  • Real World Politics
  • Content that distorts the forum layout

But I suppose someone has to be extremely toxic before this one gets you in trouble. I mean, I’ve used some mild profanities here and there and I’ve never been reprimanded.
