I can’t seem to create a reliable drake fitting for a cost effective battlecruiser using t2 modules
My fitting skills are not the issue either I just haven’t fit one in a long time and all my fittings are out of date

if your fitting skills are not the issue then why you dont create a new fit ?
and fitting a drake for L4 isnt impossible ! its realy easy … but its not the best ship for L4´s and some L4´s can be extremly hard. so you need to know the mission triggers, you need to fly more active as in a well tacked BS with lot of DPS and you maybe need sometimes to warp out and warp in again.
Yeah I got level 5 on my cpu / pg and weaponry and comp and all the needed stuff for battlecruisers and weapons and my tank. I just always have a hard time trying to figure out how to adress the fits, do I do passive tank, if passive how should I passive it up, or do I do active tank, if active how to set that up and so forth, its been a long time so I been out of the pve loop
then fit a passive and an active drake to see which is better ! PvE fits are not that hard … if you know how to fit for PvP fights then its the easiest part to create a fit for PvE
Pyfa leads the way.
Thats a fair point
Drake is a battlecruiser and does not belong into lvl4…
Lvl1 : frigate,Lvl2 : cruiser,Lvl3 : battlecruiser,Lvl4 : battleship
Yes you CAN go one step down with high skills but i generally mistrust people that make it as hard as possible for themselves…Something is definitively wrong with those kind of people
And don’t shoot triggers…
thats ■■■■■■■■ ! you can do easy L3´s with T3d or cruiser if you have good skills.
but its true, L4 shouldt be done in BC´s. a BS for L4´s are in 99% of all cases the better choice.
why ? because they dont choose the easy way as you did ?
maybe their fun is to do everything the hardest possible way you can do it … its like most of the souls like player ! not an easy game genre and still ppl love it !
You should not start L4s with BC.
Get back in L3, get money to buy a BS.
passive means 3 purger rigs, 2-3 extenders, something like that

Did you read what was written under that where i basically SAY that you can go one step down with high skills?
Because people that are only happy if they do or solve something the hardest possible way and dislike easy mode confuse ‘fun’ with ‘unnecessary difficult’. For those people ‘easy mode’ is like cheating…
no…
‘Fun’ is only to do something the easiest way with the less difficulty and opposition possible…any other form of play is simply stress…
You don’t ‘enjoy’ this, you should not and if you do then yes…‘is something wrong with you’…
A game should only be played for the storyline…one time easiest mode and it goes back into the box…nobody needs something like game +
That’s the ONLY valid opinion
What about resistance? do I need to include those when doing a purging fit?
easy means its realy easy! you can do it aswell with less good skills but then its way harder …
nobody said they dislike easy mode … dont know how do you interpret it this way …
no ! Fun is if you enyoj the action you do ! dont care if its “hard mode” or “easy mode”
its only stress for you ! for other ppl its fun …
thats only an unqualified opinion of you … how do you know what i enyoj and what i didnt ?
i also can say, if you always run the easiest way then “somthing is wrong with you” … did i say it ? no ! is true against you ? maybe !
why ? who said this ?
and btw … eve hasnt a real storyline to follow xD so why do you play eve and yea, i believe youre the dude who only runs the easiest possible way !
like “ban all gankers” its the same idiotic and fanatic opinion.
yes you always need resistance… good value is always the 60% more is better sure but 60% is enough especialy for a drake which need their med slots for HP/s
but maybe you fit more ballistic controle units cause his fits have realy low DPS and if you have low dps then you have can have some trouble with BS
Just go get a marauder?
#No poors?
You are doing lv 4 missions wrong if you are not in one of the 4 current marauders.
Take that drake. Throw it in the trashbin and go purchase a beautiful golem.
A low low cost of maybe 1.7bil if you use a t2 fit. t1 launchers are just as fine too as they are way faster than a drake.
Really, I don’t know what to say. There is little debate on the strength of a PVE marauder and I consider myself pretty reasonable here on forums.
You want to have higher EHP/s
I made a mistake, its not flux coils but power relays you want to use. flux coils give lower rep.
so a few terms you need to know :
The fit I gave already have MSH. The issue with resists is that they are stacking penalized, so adding more does not have a great effect, while shield regen multiplier are not penalized, so their effect is exponential : that’s why the fit I gave has 2 resist modules, but 6 regen modules and 2/3 extenders (base HP modules).
Of course it’s important to balance between tankiness, ease of use, DPS, projection, etc. Here there are only a 10MN to move around, 2 modules for DPS, everything else in the tank !
You sir … how rude
I just love my golem man.
To each their own ofc.
Drake will be slow for L4s, and will work best if you “mission-fit” it. IE, fit the weapons and resistance profile for the specific opponent type/range of each mission.
You’d likely be better off setting up a BS fit on a Praxis while you skill up to higher Caldari BS.
Here’s a Drake/L4 discussion that’s not completely out of date:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Eve/comments/uo20fq/starting_l4_missions/
You aren’t meant to run L4s in a Drake to begin with.
You could try to swap out T2 modules with meta tech 1.
“Compact” versions tend to have lower PG or CPU needs, while “enduring” versions eat less cap/s.
Sometimes you get a little less but the module will fit. Shield extenders are a good start.
A lot of faction modules are not as expensive as you might think, but will have T2 stats with T1 fitting requirements.
Good luck
I hate to echo the other sentiments but a Drake really is a suboptimal choice for level 4 missions for one major reason: its ability to clear a board full of red is not consistent enough for the damage that it is expected to tank. I fully believe that there are a lot of missions you could work your way through but I also wouldnt bet cash on some others.
