Drake fittings

I have my doubts CCP would do such a thing without a damn good reason. And what when your cargo is already full?

happened to me with damsel (I was helping a friend and the damsel fell in the wrong cargo), also stop the thief . However some mission (eg the one with two BS and webbing drones) do not (and makes me sad), instead you have a can dropped close to the wreck.

That might be whoever gets the last kill on the BS that drops the damsel in their cargo… Happens all the time if me or my corpmate run that mission together. We just switchout at the station and all is good.

@Nora_Maldoran by the time you destroy the BS or whatever that has the item needed, to be collected, you shouldn’t have a full cargohold. Once you destroy the target, the item drops in your cargo. If for some odd reason you have a full cargohold, then im sure it will drop as a can.

Now that I think about it, I have some blurred memory of me starring at my overview trying to find the drop with the damsel I was supposed to pick up… ^^
Still it seems like and odd way to drop items when they usually float in space.

Thanks for reminding me.

I think they did that in case people invaded your space and destroyed your target. There are several missions that drop stuff in the cargo. It does make it easier for blitzers.

I thought it was the pleasure hub that dropped the damsel …

It is… I was just using an example. I think there’s another mission I run that when you destroy a BS, a document or something transfers to your cargohold.

yeah most people dont train command bursts and alphas cant train them at all i think
i trained them because i wanted them for solo pvp and i use them in pve but most people dont have them

I like your fittings, but i think you could improve them a bit:

  1. Hornets instead of Hobgoblins when you go vs Serpentis and Guristas (which is what you want to fight in a Drake anyway, due to the kinetic lock of damage bonus.

  2. For the active fitting: If you fit a third specific hardener instead of a SBA (2 Kin, 1 Therm for Gurista, 2 Therm, 1 Kin for Serpentis) you will have a stronger tank. It also frees CPU and helps to put in t2 HML instead of the meta 4 (not sure if this works for an alpha though, CPU is still tight …) Or you could fit a specific shield resistance amplifier, if you want/need to save more CPU and also cap.

  3. again for the active fitting: If you dont need the 3 cap rigs for stability, you can swap them with hyperspatials - it helps a lot to warp faster, as you will not spend much time in the mission anyway.

  4. For the passive fitting I have the following suggestion:

[Drake, Passive Regen 2]
Shield Power Relay II
Ballistic Control System II
Ballistic Control System II
Shield Power Relay II

10MN Y-S8 Compact Afterburner
Large Shield Extender II
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
Large Shield Extender II
Missile Guidance Computer II, Missile Precision Script
M51 Benefactor Compact Shield Recharger

Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Shield Command Burst I, Shield Extension Charge

Medium Core Defense Field Purger I
Medium Core Defense Field Purger I
Medium Core Defense Field Purger I

Hornet II x5

It has a lot less resistances, but 349 EHP/s vs omni due to better shield recharge. I buffed the damage by using t2 launchers and made room for a Missile Guidance Computer which will help to apply the damage better in comparison to the single rig you fitted. It goes a bit slower than yours, as I had to meta the AB. I used to use DCII a lot on my fittings too, but I feel a second SPR is the better choice in a passive tank, unlike most other modules which have a stacking penalty on them, using more SPR just works better

The alpha clone fit is pretty tightly locked for actual alpha clones. They are rather dependent on the cap rigs because of where their capacitor skills get locked out. Also, both fits were set up for being very cheap to get put together.

Yes I have other fits than those two that could do better. But, realistically speaking if I’m really looking to run things at higher efficiency I’m not using a Drake. Drake is for cheap and reasonably dependable, like when you are planning on running some stuff out of a neighborhood wormhole. And if it goes boom, oh well. I have very high drone skills personally so the ride of choice for most things is a focused drone boat where I can use the overpowered medium drones on a Gila, or sentry drones on several other ship choices.
