My problem is the following.
I assist another account with drones and they follow him when he attacks NPCs (rats), but when he faces human enemies, other players, they do not move. It doesn’t matter if they attack first, if it’s lowsec, if I have security disabled… it doesn’t matter. They don’t attack. I need to know if this is normal or what is happening
Yes this is by design. To prevent the person assisting from getting aggression against another player without them wanting it.
Edit: also to prevent players from just multi boxing a bunch of drone boats and having them all assist 1 character and only paying attention to that character just having them attack and all the drones swarm. It forces you to actually do the attack for each character.
It worked actually fine just yesterday in our WH. Using a dronebunny and a lot of assigned Sentries is a common tactic.
He specifically asked about low sec. You get timers in low/high
See Drones - EVE University Wiki for specifics on how things works.
Heaven forbid something cool in the game is possible again…
I meant your comment about massmultiboxing droneboats and assisting them to attack other players. That is currently a totally valid mechanic. I get that it doesn’t work in low because of timers, but the reason isn’t to prevent such attacks in general, but to prevent unwanted aggression timers.
