DT +30 and server is still down

status.eveonline.com says “all systems operational”

chruker says “handshake failure” but that’s been it’s status for weeks now when server is running

EVE offline say OK (0 players)

Why check - seems none of the status pages knows anything, even EVE’s own…

But it’s still DOWN

They are just as fake as any server data displayed to the players anyway.

Ok boomer, but now is year 2025.

Well, it’s either an extra 30 minutes here and there or we can be like other mmos and have regular 8 hour downtimes.

Which MMOs have daily 8h downtime?

Albion Online

Never said daily, just regular. Most have 4 hour weekly, others monthly. FFXIV I know is about monthly but it is not the same day each month. SWTOR just had an eight hour downtime last week. Mind you, this is just regular maintenance downtimes and not patch updates.

So how is 4 hours weekly/8hourss monthly worse than 10-30+min daily? In my opinion longer DT less frequently is less disruptive than short daily DT we have in EVE…

10-30 minutes is just a small break. 4+ hours requires planning.

It is also fair to say that this long DT is happening on MMOs that don’t have one server only but mulltiple regional servers and then the DT is happening usually at night for that timezone.

So….none of the uptime EVE sites are accurate and give incorrect information, including their own.

How are we supposed to tell if EVE is up and running….other than just try to bring it up and see if the servers are running?

Welcome to CCP.

Bring back learning skills & 1.5 hour downtimes!
