If you can afford to cut your prices by 25% then you were operating on some fat margins.
As a trader, you’re not concerned with margins as much as you’re concerned with the time-value of money. Even if you take a loss on an individual sale (e.g. from having to adjust an order so many times that you end up selling below the break-even point), the time-value of the money underwriting the asset is generally worth more than the value of the loss you take. There are exceptions, and you have to make calculations on a per-case basis, but the general rule applies.
Wait a minute, are you telling me that some people play this game for isk value?? I’ve always focused on just getting it done, like shop at the store ok but don’t work there.
You have no idea…
Remember that those taxes are taken as a part of your margin. Like, they are the added cost of the item you sell.
Also remember that the margin should be considered within the time frame. When it takes one day to make 10% margin (so SO-tax-BO=0.1×SO ) it means your money is multiplied by 100/90 every day =1.111 ; if you make 9% margin in half a day, it means your money is multiplied by 100/91 every half day, so by the square =1.207 per day.
I make 10% a day, so triple my isk each month.
I lick my neighbors’ windows clean for $5 per sq ft. I use it to buy plex. I double my isk every 5.3 days.
Nice. What do you charge for bay windows?
nothing. Bay windows he licked himself are free.
Ground-floor is the same price. Above that it’s $8 per sq ft.
I have an image now of a pilot licking clean the moon goo from their barge.
I don’t do space ships. Sorry.
So you just leave your ships all dirty like until they explode?
I’m a suicide anti-gunker. My ships don’t have time to get dirty.
But that situation does actually partly exist…minus the tax. In the UK you cannot advertise or display something as ‘reduced in price’ unless it has held the prior price for at least a certain period of time ( I think 6 weeks ). The motivation behind the law is really quite similar to that for Eve re-listing…to prevent an endless cycle of under-cutting appearing as a bargain when in fact the prices were conflated prior to the ‘sale’.
The only item I was anchored to was obtaining Princess’s frozen corpse.
Nothing else mattered, now that I had acquired such I am lost in limbo, making isk for unknown reasons.
CCP should just do what governments the world over have done and raise taxes. Implement a monthly income tax and start sucking isk out of the game. All those new player mission rewards have to be paid for somehow, so add tax brackets and start siphoning isk from anyone with more than 1 bil in their wallet.
Does PLEX count? If so, who would buy PLEX from CCP and then sell it for ISK - only to be subsequently taxed. I really don’t think you’ve thought this idea through…
Cap boosters, crystals, other ammo, nanite repair paste, Ansiblex fees, skill accelerators, skill books, yada yada yada…is more than enough ‘tax’ for those who are actually active in the game. Which your char doesn’t appear to have been since 2014.
Plus, under your absurd system, I could just spread my ‘more than 1 billion’ across 15 accounts and pay zero tax.
You seem familiar with the concept of multiple accounts, but can’t get your head around posting from an alt?
No…what I can’t get my head around is why you think anyone cares who your ‘main’ is.
