If I were an AFK cloaker and cloaks were removed I’d just log out in a safe spot instead. I’m still in your system, and I’m still gonna drop a fleet on you.
AFK croakers don’t enable this tactic.
AFK cloaking only puts the fear up the krabs so they dock up. It doesn’t affect the ability to pop them. You’re in more danger when you can’t see the potential cyno waiting in local. You’re safer when they’re afk cloaked.
Of course that’s what this is really about.
the most disgusting thing is that in the old times one guy in a prospect could make 40 null bears in super carriers dock , no effort to fight , they just run for their lives and dock , and them you started to listen sad voices in coms , yeah today the system is bad , there is some guys there , pathetic , ate least now it takes a pilgrim to do that

But then as soon as you log back in you appear in local and the farmers dock up. That’s the goal of cloaking nerfs, ensuring that they get a warning from local with plenty of time to dock up before you can complete the login process and launch an attack.

Don’t get me started on the issue of deep safes and those days of deep space probes. Were it up to me deep safes would be back. Space felt like space back in those days.
IMO the problem with deep safes is that there isn’t a consistent way to make them. It’s less “working as designed” and more “there are occasional weird situations that make this possible and you benefit if you’re lucky enough to be around to exploit one”.
(Of course this gets into the general issue with the bookmark system and the ridiculous inability to warp directly to an arbitrary point in a system.)

Those statistics are tricky things. There are much less players in wh but they print way more isk if we look at it from “isk per krab” value.
I dont have exact numbers but this high isk printing in null can be a result of: generally higher isk output per anomaly/DED-ratet on unrated combat ite etc + hordes of players in null.
What upsets me here is that there is a wide field for adjustment for isk vs danger/effort. For ex. i dont know where c1 and c2 wormholes should land in this graph but my view of all this is that there should be general guidelines for isk vs danger/effort value between different areas of EVE + space for a sandbox. Right now i see CCP trying to turn EVE into sandbox for CCP themselves while tons of players are just bewildered by their desicions.
Should someone krab himself into oblivion and be always safe in a space that is supposed to be dangerous? No. Should someone just sit there and farm isk in a most braindead way without effort or retaliation? No. It is indeed hard to find a perfect ballance but tbh i dont see how CCP will make this specific “permanent ESS” thing into an actually interesting factor of gameplay. For now i unfortunately expect nothing more than a pain in the ass for one part and a gift to another. And this will probably not affect game in a good way.

I was taking exemple of blackout and perma cloaking to explain how perma ESS will impact game. And so some “cloacky warior” have come .
So if you want a summary : In the actual environnement ESS will add a new layer of complexity to farming who have be nerf a lot recently. So it will just make more people leave game in midterm. And remimber withotu covbid and lockdown game population will have be under the blackout level. So it’s not time to make a new disaster to make short term vision.
No, they just appear 2-8 km from you and teleport a fleet right in your face. Otherwise yeah, no danger at all.
I kinda remember being camped for entire year. Ratters were explosing right left and center, and this was achieved by a cloaky camper.
