ESI weeds out the lazier spies.
Imagine if an obvious spy is not asked for ESI and can easily join your alliance and fleets, after which they conduit jump your 12B Marshals which you thought were safe on tether to a beacon in a different system for enemies to kill.
Yes, those kinds of things happen.
ESI access is given on a character basis, not account basis. Whoever you give access to wouldn’t know anything about your other characters aside from how the current character interacted with them.

Sure thing, I don’t really think you get a lazy spy that gives good intel. I have 4 brothers who play eve all in the big alliances if your going to get intel you will if you are that way inclined and a ESI does nothing much ESI on ships/skills/mail/contacts is acceptable imo but the full run down is way over kill and it excludes players to a degree. But you don’t have to agree with me the same as I don’t you it is what it is.
