It doesn’t change the interpretation of her data.
In this case you can interpret her claim any way you wish.
More data lends weight towards certain interpretations, but it never completely discounts other interpretations (unless physical impossibility). One data point has a 50/50 shot at being right, but also the same chance of being wrong - if there are just two interpretations.
This is basic research methods stuff that any science user - hard, soft, or social - will know.
It will be used on your claims as well.
I, and many here, know this.
You arent telling us anything we didnt understand, nor which refutes her one anecdotal example. You arent the only one here with an education in statistical analysis or scientific method in regards to validity of an piece of anecdotal evidence.
Salvos Its clear you intend to derail for your own purposes. If you were of a high degree certainty, you’d have your own thread in progress.
As far as you stating I am onboard is of your own making.
I questioned and you clarified. I gave a dissenting opinion. After that you concluded I was trolling. Which is obviously false due to my involvement in this thread from early on. I did give some merit and you ran away with that.
Making Captcha a necessary for game play by having it be incremental based on timing is nonsensical. Maybe if one needs to be constantly clicky engaged to be considered fun it could be a Captcha mini game. As you described is beyond annoying to the point of OCD nourishment. I don’t like to eat garbage. Being all inclusive and not based on an actual afk criteria is madness. Adding, your idea won’t bring in or keep new players, returning players. They’ll be like “wtf!” and move on. Your persistence is commendable to a point. Past that it just shows…
I ask you to stop and you gave the usual moronic responses. I see you do time and time again. Now its nearly 400 post of you own in this total that are merely wasted space.
No. I want to keep topic, ontopic, for all of our benefit.
This is utterly false. Check the top of the thread for stats, you liar.
These aren’t “captchas” as you think.
My proposal: -Cuts 33% uptime off botters that run bots while they sleep. -Cuts 66% uptime off botters that run bots while asleep + a standard 8hr workday. -Cuts 100% uptime off botters that run bots whilst afk, 23/7.
I dont need your concession or agreement to carry on.
What kind of little b**ch do you think I am that I would fold over that?
HTFU and stay ontopic, or GTFO.
Your posting has taken on a new low of trolling.
“I dont agree so you should leave/stop”?
Seriously?
If you cant take the heat in this kitchen and deliver your own weight, leave.
Show me something better than this:
My proposal: -Cuts 33% uptime off botters that run bots while they sleep. -Cuts 66% uptime off botters that run bots while asleep + a standard 8hr workday. -Cuts 100% uptime off botters that run bots whilst afk, 23/7.
PS: Shutting down servers is not a rational option, despite your earlier attempt to suggest it.
Word usage changes over time. A word used in one context may end up being used in others. My point is I’m not the only one using “coevolution” outside of it’s dictionary definition. Lots of people are using it outside that definition. The claim only I am using coevolution in this way is actually not factually true, at this point it can be said to be a lie.
The ultimate irony of semantic arguments is that you understand the other poster so well that you can rip apart their words by their absolute definitions, something that can change over time, when the point of a discussion, or better yet the old world ideals of “argument,” is to gain understanding and share information has someone devolved into simply winning the point logically and getting the other party to concede a point.
For me it will always be about understanding and sharing information, not about winning a point, I think that humans change their mind more that way and grow as a whole better.
@Gadget_Helmsdottir /me drops a $20 in the jar and shakes it at the All-Night_Gadget to get her going
One problem with that method. The clients are programmed to not allow any more than a single instance of an Alpha account logged in at once on the same computer and they are limited in the types of ships they can mine with. Either with the Venture or with a hauler fitted with a mining laser. It’s just inefficient.
I forgot which Fanfest CCP mentioned this in one of their security discussions but they have confiscated assets and ISK from bot users and RMTers. They just like to do it quietly.
EDIT: Woops, disregard this post, I just realized CCP Peligro posted.
Yes, I know my post was anecdotal, but I’m a believer that in general, there are no such things as coincidences. These particular RMTers must have been running for a long time to acquire a stockpile of dreads, tens of thousands of PLEX, thousands of skill injectors, etc. Why did it take them so long to ban them?
