Responding to a dishonest thesis is fundamentally flawed. There is nothing such a post can do to move the conversation forward. This thread is derailed when you defined “derailed” as “disagrees with Salvos.” Well, topic of this thread isn’t “salvos is right about everything” so, guess what, you derailed it long ago. That would be a horrible idea. Suppose you were selling PLEX through a sell order, and a botter bought it? You have no way of knowing if the ISK you received is legit or not. Is CCP going to go back and refund your PLEX? What if you spent that ISK…does your character go negative ISK?

You know, once upon a time, CCP had the cash flow and profits to not only employ an economist to sort out all these kinds of things for their player base. but also have a dev who would try to answer questions put to him on his one public thread. Can’t remember if that thread was via Twitter, or simply on the old forums.
Then the crushing weight of all the brilliant decisions by CCP management over a period of years wiped out profitability, and both of these employees were axed, and their responsibilities simply abandoned. I remember when the dev answered precisely how many supercaps were in the game. That angered the null sec cartels, and most certainly contributed to his demise.
So now, we are left to speculate and try to figure this stuff out, because no one at CCP has the resources and/or willingness to get to root of the question. Go go CCP!

It was on the forums and the two did it in their spare time, not on the clock. That’s also why they didn’t do that for very long, because it took up a lot of time writing out the dev blog in detail and engaging with the community about it and that’s the reason Quant only posts pictures. He has his python script that he lets run, it produces all the pictures for him and then he calls it a day.
Can it be players activating/deactivating their accounts? If so, it should correlate with faucets. I mean if a rich player quits, he will no longer generate ISK (which made him rich at the first place). But no, there is no correlation:

[Could]the positive isk delta spikes be a result of bot sourced isk/value being transferred to inactive wallet/bank accounts (invisible in isk delta), that upon re-activation, to refinance new bot-networks to replace banned ones, and to re-stock RMT stores, causing said sudden positive active isk delta even after months of deep negative active isk delta?

People stop quitting EVE/getting banned and player farm more ISK than the sinks destroy. That would give you a positive delta.
I remember a big stink over that happening years ago. Back before plex. Back when players were selling ISK for real money. Some players got banned or had their wallet set to negative for simply receiving dirty ISK through market sells.
