Eve Bots - are they a bad thing, is CCP complicit in their use?

It’s one thing where CCP did put concerted effort in recently, the cleanup of market bots, and as an aside the cleanup of market spammers (to a lesser degree). Most likely due to catching up in the tech race, or by figuring out a framework in use in order to enable detection and flagging.

It’ll be quiet for a few more weeks, undoubtedly. But it did show how heavily station trading had become automated. A funny, severel interesting price curves stabilised. How curious…

The market bots are still there and it’s really easy to spot them… They’d use 3 days duration for buy orders, and their characters are all in NPC corps. The character names also only contain 3 vowels (most likely using name generator). And yes, they would still outbid your order by 0.01 ISK within 5-10 minutes…

Most of the bots are around 3-6 months old though. So I suppose the old alts were banned/deleted.
