I find sound in Eve very useful for adding additional “info” to what’s going on around me, so I like to keep it on. However I’d like a little more granularity when it comes to ambient sounds, mostly because when I’m docked with all six of my characters I can’t cope with the cacophony of environmental station noises I hear, so I tend to turn it off again.
I like “ting” when my mining hold is full, or warp and gate sounds, or “you’re about to die” sounds.
UNLESS, I’ve missed a setting somewhere of course, which I’m sure someone will point out.
Either way, it’s broken. My “advanced settings” are turned on, atmosphere is down to zero but sometimes that is ignored. I’m also hearing two “musics” when I turn on override dynamic with the old music.
Its obvious to me that who ever designed the new station sounds did it just for fun. Did not care its something other people have to listen to more or less every time they play. And its a shame that people are approaching the design of EVE this way. Think of the players. But not gonna happen, and thats why the game is losing popularity every year.
Should we think of CCP? Sure, but they just dont give us any reasons to love or respect them. Sad!
