Eve Inter-System Travel?

How does the current inter-system travel mechanics effect your Eve Online game experience? Intentionally broad enough with this question to cover all methods used to leave one system and enter another.

What aspects increase your game enjoyment?

What aspects could be improved?

What aspects reduce your enjoyment of Eve Online game content?

Hoping for valuable insights from you.

Magical-travel proliferation has made space far too small. I can go anywhere in the universe and be in Jita in 15 minutes or less, making the game feel effectively tiny.

Back before eve-scout, ansiblex, filaments, pochven, and ubiquitous jump drives, the other side of the cluster was actually far away. Corner to corner today isn’t even an inconvenience.

You reckon AI is deliberately making spelling mistakes to appear human? (Looking at “effect” :face_with_monocle:)

Strange questions…

I got bored just reading those questions. AI or not, I’m not interested in answering them. Even less so, when the original poster doesn’t even bother to be open about why he needs ‘‘insight’’ about them.

He’s trying to stir up discussion in order to promote his view (expressed elsewhere) that gate camps should be nerfed, allowing him to enjoy easier travel.

Is it possible that an actual player wants to hear what other people think? I believe so.

This appears to be a common pattern, there always seems to be some agenda behind his long-winded posts and he rarely explicitly says what it is he wants, yet it is still obvious:

“EVE needs more intentional PvP” → I do not want to play a game where I can be caught in unfair PvP

“How are your experiences in EVE leaving one system and entering another?” → I do not like getting caught in gatecamps

If only this person could say what it is they wish to complain about instead of making long-winded posts that are as boring to read as any AI generated text where they dance around the thing they wish to say instead of saying it, it would save us all time.

It’s a not-very-subtle offshoot of OP’s other thread in which he’s trying to suggest… nobody is sure, exactly, OP included.

It’s not going well over there, so OP is fishing for validation for a vaguely expressed opinion from that thread.

You are supposed to say something like, “Now that you ask, gosh darnit, I sure do wish I didn’t have to spend SOOOO much time traveling! Why, I have to undock and fly 30 jumps just to die in a gatecamp without ever finding a nice, fair, mano-a-mano 1v1 duel against an Anathema hacking a can. This is why I never PvP! If it weren’t for all that travel - and especially those gatecamps! - I would play the game in a completely different way. It’s really too bad that all of this forced travel through camped gates has stymied my growth as a player, etc., etc., etc.”

Obviously, I am taking a different strategy. Asking questions instead of making statements.

I haven’t seen that thread. Thanks for clarification.

The strategy may be different but the intent is still the same, but now even more obfuscated.

You refuse to acknowledge my point: Eve Online has room for improvement.

More “obfuscated”? You cannot honestly mean that. Three simple questions: good, could be better, and bad. No bias, no leading. Completely open, honest questions. Why does this require your efforts to silence?

The answer is obvious: you cannot tolerate this conversation. Why not? Because your game strategy exploits broken game mechanics. This conversation threatens to give Fenris Creations valuable game feedback which might be implemented.

Why did I really start this conversation? Space travel sucks for everyone other than a few specific. Those groups control too much space in Eve and prevent other players from using “their space”. Hold a gate camp at a choke-point and control the region. Your strategy depends on all players going through that one gate. If Fenris Creations changes this, players might have an alternate route that does not require an addition hour of wasted player game time.

It is time to allow other players to use the official Fenris Creations feedback forum. You have silenced them too long already.

Was that the point? Really? Couldn’t come up with anything more generic than that?

@Gerard_Amatin is well aware of the specifics already. My biggest complaints are gate camps and shuttle bombings. Have a strong emphasis on fairness and space for smaller groups. Believe PVP mechanics are broken. The aggressors have all of the advantages. No effective defensive strategies available to players. Evidence: PVP fleets cowardly disappear when faced with opposing forces.

Why do sooooo many others have no problem flying their ships intelligently and not complain? If, and that is a real big if, why are just a few complaining and not the vast majority?

I wasn’t, which is my main problem with the way you dance around the topics you wish to complain about.

I only knew you wanted to complain about something.

But thanks for being straightforward for once!

Shuttles can easily avoid smartbombs if you fly better and gatecamps also can be played around so learn to navigate the game.

How many times have you replied to me in the couple weeks? I clearly express myself. You screw up the paraphase and reject the point. Do you respond just to create emotional response? You will not troll me.
