The only reason they’re still in business is that there’s zero competition we could run off to… The moment that props up, CCP as a company will be dead.
Are they really getting more paying people?
This kind of offer only appeals to the pay-2-win crowd. On anyone else, it will rather have the opposite effect, leading to the “wrong” people starting with Eve.
But, as we know, this isn’t really p2w because those t1 frigates, you could get within the first few hours of gameplay anyway. This will most likely lead to quite a number of disappointed customers of this package.
For the existing playerbase, this just confirms what many of us are already thinking: CCP is just trying to get as much money out of Eve as possible before it’s going down.
How this can posssibly lead to any satisfied customer is beyond me…
When I saw that ad first thing I did was look up Star Citizen to see if it had any major updates lately…
No, they aren’t. They were hoping and developing for the crowd that never came, alienating their loyal customer base in the process.
CCP has been digging its own grave in the chase after average humans. The kind that EVE was never built for.
I wouldn’t call Scam Citizen any competition to EVE. I don’t believe they have anything in common apart from spaceships.
Yeah, Eve should be growing exponentially, and it would be if it were not for those Codies, n more recently those BedWetta’s.
But we can revive our beloved Eve, all you have to say is : I do believe in fairies! I do believe in ISD Falcon! I do believe in the C&P forum!
Look Look its coming back, not a dead cat bounce but a thriving diverse community full of love.
I CAN FEEL THE LUV!!!
You, too, make the same mistake as the other guy in the other thread.
The people you are talking about left the game long ago, with us being the exceptions staying, watching and commenting. the cultural shift started years ago, with Ascension being the climax.
i know who you are and i love the sarcasm behind your post.
They take your money on dreams of awesome and return a mediocre game, that’s a something IMO.
Eve can’t die because it is UNDEAD. It may be ugly, it may stumble, it may even eat strange things, but is will never die. Oh, and just to cover all the bases PLEX is the fault for everything going wrong.
The only thing i want from this is when CCP decide to quit Eve that they gift me all there stuff. I promise to put it to good use.
Maybe Eve is like Dark Souls and it’s suppose to die over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and…
…wait, what the hell were we talking about?
I honestly wish it would die for some, the recent influx of SJWs with tender feelings is everything this game isn’t about.
HTFU.
Us Millennials are keeping EvE and CCP alive!
EVE needs us to live!
Look at the eve-offline.com charts. New blood is keeping EvE afloat.
Trend lines dont lie. A wallstreet broker AI inbestment robot would look at EvE player count logged in stats over the past 5 years and say
SELL SELL SELL SELL SELL.
EVE IS CRASHING HARD
Ya know… sometimes your behaviour reminds me of people who are being paid to create the appearance of artificial outrage in a ludicrous manner, which has the goal to reduce the amount of people expressing their anger, because actual customers don’t want to associate with these people.
You aren’t, of course, but you remind me of them.
Certain people are overreacting for sure. They speak as if their world is ending. Perhaps it is (for them).
Chriba’s http://eve-offline.net/?server=tranquility does not lie.
EvE is in serious trouble. Just look at the graphs and make your own opinion sheep.
It is clearly doing worse each week.
Those that deny are liars, CcpFanbois, or just straight-up dumbasses.
EVE has been “close to die” ever since it was released…just sayin’
I miss the old EvE forums they were relevant.
I don’t think giving Alphas forums access was the best idea.
I don’t mind Eve actually dying.
All good things come to end at one point. Before Eve, it was Ultima Online for me. After Eve, I will be probably done with MMORPG in general.
Getting a little too old for MMORPG.
As long as people are saying that Eve is dying, then Eve is actually alright.
When people stop talking about it, though - that’s when things get real.
Eve does handle a lot of player no. fluctuation, but so far it mostly evens out. The biggest draw of Eve is the player-to-player interactions, and I do believe things have reached a bit of a stagnation recently, but the new modifications to citadels and player-owned stuff should help alleviate the issue.
We could have a few systems with temporary sovereignty! You know, systems with enormous industrial capability (ores, ice, gas, PI planets and moon stuff) mediated by CONCORD. Something like Dune, but with set timers, like 6-month till sov automatically drops and player-buildings get removed or something. Of course, people could still take over these systems from one-another during this 6-month period, but should spice things up!
