Do you know that AI doesn’t really have the ability to read the threads on this forum? It can read like the first page and it can read from a link you give it and the data it was trained on.

You’re not entirely wrong, but you’re mixing up two different things. The AI itself isn’t sitting there reading every thread on the EVE forums, but an AI with web access absolutely can pull up forum pages, follow links, and read what it can access.
Hell, this thread is a perfect example. I gave ChatGPT the link and it could read through comment #20. When I asked it about #21, it flat out told me it couldn’t see it yet because the version it could access hadn’t updated. Once I pasted #21, it could respond to it.
So yea, the emperor has clothes.

@Geo_Eclipse_Oksaras I don’t want to hijack thread so maybe we can talk in some other place I don’t know. Want to respect Mike and not interrupt… I’ll make it short as I can. I was trying to figure out why some guy was endlessly ranting on the forum about ganking. So I asked Google Gemini pro to work on a new chart with me. The chart was going to include the names of the top posters in last whatever time frames to figure out who was talking as the first step. It then said some weird s*** about a person on the forum with two kids. I’ve never seen anyone talk about in real life children and I never prompted it to speak in any way so I was wondering why the hell it said this you know… Anyway so I asked and here is the result. It’s a lot more complicated but this kind of sums it up.
It’s been trained and there was a lot of money spent on that. But since then bro it’s just making it all up. Telling you what you want to hear every post… It does not know what the 10th word it is until it calculates the 9th and so forward. I don’t know Gerald and I’ve never heard him mention real life on the forum… I have raised one myself but not the point. The thing I’m trying to point out is that AI is making up a lot of everything it’s telling you so as to seem more valuable. AI doesn’t even learn from you after training. The only time it learns (the devs) is when there’s a prompt which asked you to pick one of the two for when you liked something better.
Here’s the thing… Go ahead and ask it how it knows that there’s no mention of children on the forum after it states this as a new fact. Do you understand? It cannot confirm with information it doesn’t have and never did. That’s another delusion simply meant to tell you what it thinks you want to hear. It will lie to you until the end of time and become more and more confused as it does it. That is the math behind it. It’s literally why you need a fresh session.
this is why you don’t take what AI says as gospel.. I use it for various things in healthcae, i constantly question it when it pertains to my field. I never take what it says as gold, i question and push back, like i do teachers and educators in my field. if you take what AI says as gold and gospel. you’re just an idiot.

I have noticed AI is mostly a 100% hate or love thing. Recently ChatGPT has been bombing Disney+ with commercials of little old ladies using it. Do they think that octogenarians are keeping it from being used? Maybe that is the targeted demographic?
I was recently asked by a friend at dialysis what I thought about AI. I told him, I don’t love or hate it, it is just a tool for making custom music or photos. He looked way too serious about his next question, They say it will cure cancer, do you think it could cure dialysis first? I think I broke his heart with my reply. I told him, “Whoever told you that was lying. We drank our hemlock and now we are paying for it.”.
In the end, it is not the AI people should hate. It is all those humans peddling the false promises.

I love AI. What I hate is ignorance, greed, and superstition. I can feel your story brother. It is rooted in the reasons I try to fix other’s views. There’s a large portion of society that’s actually afraid and completely delusional because of lies being spread with AI. I’m not accusing anyone, but using AI to replace yourself n the medical field should be a huge lawsuit and will lead to lost lives if we allow it to interfere or advise actual professionals. I can guarantee you there are lawyers now pouring over the prompts. There was once a time I thought it might be the cure to cancer also. Physics and math dictate that there is no such thing as a perpetual motion machine. For the same reason it is not possible for AI to be anything that people wanted it to be. We just have to adjust to this truth. We do have one of the most powerful tools ever developed. But the emperor is wearing no clothes. I just try to pepper in the truth for people to plant seeds in their mind. The seeds of truth will always grow in time.
