Hey capsuleers,
I built a Linux-native tool for managing multiple EVE clients — EVE-O Preview for Linux.
If you play EVE on Linux and multibox, you know the Windows EVE-O Preview doesn’t work here. This is an independent implementation built from scratch in Python/GTK3 that brings the same core functionality to Linux.
Features:
- Live thumbnail previews of all EVE clients
- Click to focus, drag to reposition, zoom on hover
- Active client highlighting with customizable colored borders
- Character name overlays
- Hide active client option
- Persistent thumbnail positions
- Adjustable refresh rate (10/15/25/30 FPS)
- Works on X11 and Wayland (via XWayland)
- Optional gtk-layer-shell for thumbnails above fullscreen EVE on Wayland
- Compatible with Steam/Proton, Lutris, and standalone Wine
Tested on Fedora 43 / KDE Plasma 6 (Wayland) with EVE via Steam.
This is a passive observation tool only — it does not modify game files, inject code, automate gameplay, or interact with network traffic.
