This happened to me today and I think it was caused by a corrupt settings file. I deleted “EVE-O Preview.json” which fixed it, but I had to set it up again.
That’s a floating bug caused by different DPI density of 2 displays + something that gets buggy in the Windows itself (bad timings or something like this). I am working on this bug (got similar setup so I should be able to finally kill it)
Sounds good, was just trying to figure it out myself and wanted to make sure it was known.
I would suggest re-checking that you are using same set of functions to get and set window dimensions. I’ve seen similar issue in the distant past, when I was using functions from different libs to first retrieve window position and then change it by an offset. Everything was working fine until I’ve placed my taskbar by the left edge of screen. Then one library was using desktop (minus taskbar) coords and another - screen coords - thus got an offset by the width of the taskbar. Wonder if similar issue happening here: one function using scaled units while another does not.
I’m looking for a way to set preview sizes independently on clients. Is there a way to run 2 (or more) instances of EVE-O Preview (idea being to force hide the thumbnails handled by other instance), or is there any possibility of this functionality being added - perhaps just through j-son editing, if not the main interface?
I frequently run 12 accounts - 6 primary accounts on main 4k monitor, and 6 utility accounts on secondary 1080p monitor. The decision being either useful sized main thumbnails with very obstructive secondary thumbnails, or reasonably sized secondary thumbnails with squint-o vision mains, losing the useful preview functionality for the most part.
Not at this time unfortunately.
Heya, just started using this, seems super helpful. I have one question so far:
I run eve on three monitors (spread across them all) at 5760x1080. This makes the previews either really squashed into a 16:9 ratio, or very long and short in a 48:9 ratio. Is there a way to “crop” the preview so that it only shows the middle monitor’s worth of space? This would allow me to get a good preview of what’s actually important (on the middle monitor) while not wasting a ton of space previewing the other two monitors as well. If not, is it possible to at least set the thumbnail width higher than 960 so I don’t have a teeny tiny preview that is limited to 180 pixels high without stretching?

EDIT: I found in the JSON file that I could increase the max thumbnail size, so that helps; that said, the ability to crop the preview would still be absolutely amazing! <3
EDIT2: Unchecking “Previews always on top” just makes the previews completely disappear (there is no window over it)?

Just in case - isn’t your EVE client spread across all 3 monitors? So it is the one that is over previews

Really, just cropping the preview would? As it stands, I’m just moving the preview such that one monitor is off the screen and the other side is covered by a different window, lol. It is effectively the same thing, just less convenient.

It is spread across 3 monitors, but the preview is on the 4th, above the other 3.
I ran into another issue when I launched today - it is not saving the locations I set for the previews. Anything I can look into there to fix that?

Please try to switch between clients several times once you change positions of your previews. Their positions are written with some delay
I noticed that, and that does work for position, but I have to reset the size every time I launch, for whatever reason. I tried setting the settings file to read only, but that causes crashes.

Yep. This is known for systems with 2 displays using different DPI setting
