A malfunction in the skin matrix of the Stiletto caused a flame effect which lasted for 24 hrs before the issue was corrected.
The flame effect was persistent during system warp and while traveling through Jumpgates…

So basically a highly advanced minmatar ship was coughing flames and sparks all the time as if duct tape was holding the pieces together. Seems perfectly reasonable.
