The “Latest News” section of the launcher has not found an update since 2017-10-28.
I am not on Mac OS and I too only see latest news through 2017-10-28

ya here’s a cross post with an explanation of the launcher failure issue (includes a link to my latest launcher logs).
It’s definitely an issue with the latest launcher. File a ticket and ask for support too.
