On Wednesday, 21 October, we will be having an extended downtime for an estimated one hour, running from 11:00 UTC to 12:00 UTC.
For those, like me, who aren’t extremely technically savvy: some of our hamsters are being relocated, and we need time to settle them in and make sure they’re happy in their new homes.
For a deeper look, we’ll be moving some of our production databases to a new DB cluster running SQL 2025.
As a result, Tranquility will be down while we do the migration, with some VIP time for comprehensive validation to ensure everything is running smoothly. Web services, the EVE store, and ESI may be affected during this period as well.
We’ll have updates here and EVE Status on the day.
Yeah, it’ll appear at the top of a launcher as we usually do for extended downtimes with a reference to this very thread! (and hopefully we’ll be done sooner)
Does “production” mean manufacturing, research or PI databases? Just asking so that we will know which areas of the game to check to make sure everything is working and all hamsters are happy afterwards. Or does it mean something else?
Moving 2025 SQueeLy hamsters… good luck!
PS - Are you helping with the move @CCP_Swift ? If yes, then other devs please keep him away from the character names database… some “FC” names might change back to “CCP” Just joking.
