FPS Limit request

How do you do?

I have contacted EVE Online Support regarding a request for an in-game FPS limit in their settings.

The support wrote me back with the answer that I should contact the CSM.

Now I turn to you.

I would like to have a setting option for a certain FPS number in the game. Because my graphics card works at 100% for 165 FPS in WQHD. The game looks breathtaking, but the computer heats up accordingly and my electricity costs increase.

I’m also happy with 80 FPS, and my graphics card is spared, the computer stays cool and my power consumption remains low. And yet the game remains breathtakingly beautiful!

In Windows, I can limit FPS via the driver. But I use Linux. Many games offer an FPS limit in the game settings. EVE Online should also offer this in view of the climate crisis and the rising cost of living for the user.

Can you please think about it and discuss it, preferably present it to the developers at EVE Online?

We all have something to gain from it!

PS: I use the deepl.com translator for my text. My English language skills are not that good.

Yours sincerely

And yet you get your message across better than people whose first language is supposedly English.

The Linux_Gaming subreddit has quite a few articles on globally limiting FPS like Whinedoze does, have you looked there? I haven’t read them, so not sure how helpful they are as I’m still running on the Whinedoze OS that came with my laptop.

V-sync

That just matches it to your screen’s refresh rate, which can be pretty high on some monitors.
