I would like to see some type of framerate slider implemented into the settings for the client, optimally there would be a slider for max active window framerate, and one for the percentage drop that inactivity causes. There would be a checkbox for uncapped. With how graphically demanding this game has got, and with how multiboxing is a traditionally encouraged behavior this is a quality of life change that probably is well past due.
Or just a ”max active fps” and ”max inactive fps” pair of sliders. That way you could set the active window to unlimited and the inactive ones to 20 or whatever.
Absolutely, the key takeaway is that the addition of a granular control setting for FPS active & inactive windows would be a welcome QoL increase.
Multiboxing should get anti-QOL updates, imo. It should be allowed, but never encouraged or accommodated.
To be clear, while a change of this nature would impact the viability of multiboxing which I indicated in the OP it is not primarily targeted at providing an encouragement or accommodation to the gameplay style. While acknowledging your opinion is not one shared by the development or marketing team at all, due to their prolific encouragements to multiboxing throughout the client. I understand your frustrations associated with multiboxing, I can imagine what the source of those frustrations are. I would prefer you don’t colour something that is an obvious good for everyone as something that you don’t agree with because it would be tangentially good for people you don’t personally like. Because the core of your argument could be extended to every facet of the client.
