Not going to work because the corps offering jobs would just create an army of alts to artifically elevate their ratings and make themselves look legitimate.
Catch one unsuspecting victim, create new corp, create new ratings. Rinse and repeat. Scammers would have a field day.
Wrong, wrong, nonsense, nonsense. Old bounty system could not be abused to kill yourself. These theorycrafts with some super rare faction item that the said person was playing market tricks for months only to then have it in ship that he destroyed with alt is nothing but a fairy tale that never happen.
We already have what is needed for PvP bounties to work, it is just limited to corporation.
But in corporation project I can specify, player or corporation/alliance, system where he has to die, ship he has to fly. Not much more needed, although I suppose you can always just let yourself blown alt by alt in empty hull, but there is no solution against that. The thing is, even if someone makes a freelance job against me, I would not notice. I don’t look at them. I don’t care. So even if I could scam it (which currently is easy to do since it is damage not kill lol) I wouldn’t.
Not sure about freelance, but I use corporation projects and even this system won’t show me who participated and how much was he paid. All I see is the total sum subtracted from Corporation Wallet upfront. I would expect the freelance works the same.
Imho the last iteration (20% ship universe-wide 90d average hull value as max payout) was imho pretty failsave. Items in Fit und Cargo were ignored and no one is able to manipulate a ship-price for any ship in EVE over 90days to a degree that he can make profits with that. Others would waaaay to fast step in and correct the market.
No idea what really the reason is that CCP doesn’t want to bring the bounty system back, but abuse from killing yourself with an alt definitely isn’t. Because that didn’t work any more when they turned it off.
