I don’t see a forum thread on freelance jobs, so I’ll start one.
This looks like another CCP project developed by people who don’t play the game. I looked specifically at the PvP ‘jobs’. Why did they do it like this? Why don’t they ask for help creating a better system? I don’t know.
Why didn’t CCP ask the CSM for advice? #Hello?
At first glance, I thought I could pay for kills or damage done. Actually, I can’t pay for kills. I’m not sure why I would want to pay for damage done, does that mean you get paid for shooting your shield tank alt? Cool bounty mechanic bro. I can’t specify a minimum target value. I can’t restrict who can complete the job. I can’t set the reward equal to a percentage of the target value (CCP wtf was wrong with the old bounty system, and can we just get it back already?).
I guess I’m posting this because I am just mystified. Why would anybody ever use this system? Why did CCP think someone would use this? Either I put in a meaningless reward for random garbage (1 isk for every hitpoint in Halaima!), or I put in a larger reward and immediately get scammed by anyone with common sense. It’s just not a good system, and I think CCP should restore the original bounty system which worked fine, offering 20% of the value of a killmail.
I was looking at it myself and like you was mystified. All I see here is being scammed hard. And like you I am wondering does anyone at the CCP offices play this game or is even familiar with the amount of scams that happen anyways?
Aside from the Bounty System. Why would anyone hire me or would anyone need to hire anyone outside of their corp. Sure maybe for a one person corp. But the way it set up is just an open invitation to be scammed anyways.
The Bounty System in spite of some flaws that could have been worked out. It worked fine. Wanted another player blown out of the sky. Put enough Isk up for the bounty and that was a player that was going to be hunted.
What we have now is just a FUBAR of an idea that should have died before someone pulled the trigger for going ahead.
I am sorry CCP this idea is a bad one and unless reworked. Is just not one that is going to work. I think there is a kernel of a good idea somewhere in there. Where is a good question.
