Freighter PvP & the Ante

You are right, the correct term is morality.

This is a great idea. Instead of concord, arm freighters.

There is no such requirement to always move through a chokepoint, unless you’re is a hurry to get stuff moved.

For example, I routinely shift stuff around via wormholes. Got a bunch of expensive stuff and I don’t want to run the Uedama gauntlet, simply wait for a handy wormhole connection.
Sure, it requires some effort to probe out and scout the connections and may add to the total number of jumps, but I haven’t lost a hauler in going on 10 years now.

The freighter was targeted way before at the very point he decided to fill up that cargo with such high value load, which doesn’t make this 50/50 coin flip game. There are thresholds to follow what comes to cargo value and as a freighter pilot one should probably be aware of that. This is why we laugh at skill injected pilots, there’s a reason the training for a freighter takes 1 year but that’s for another topic.

“Typically in PVP”
The way i see it is Eve-Online is far from typical game. The amount of effort and time it takes to scout those freighters and execute the plan is something not to be underestimated.

“They risk little”
Is true. But they also put in the effort and work. As should the freighter pilot do.

“be the potential for victory.”
There was a potential for victory. The freighter pilots victory is to safely get the cargo from point A to point B and in this case he failed.

The actual freighter tanking aka the cargo value is the most biggest thing that so many overlook.

The fact that when you first consider the 50% drop rate, then divide whatever the hijacked cargo value is with the amount of pilots is required to destroy the freighter, it very rarely exceeds the ISK profits per hijack of that a hijacking cargo deliveries alone. (Solo Thrasher at a gate for example.) What i’m going for is that the cargo value needs to be exceptionally high for pirates to target.

So my conclusion is that there is this ante because the freighter pilots themselves enable it.
Same applies to many other things in Eve but there is no ante to talk about if there wasn’t no freighter pilots fitting cargo expanders and hauling cargo worth of hijacking.
