[GALFED] <BLDZ> An Announcement of Military Action

Goodness, vast stellar Empires are hypocritical and forcefully so? Say it ain’t so.

Ain’t no righteous sides to pick in any of those conflicts. Just the lesser evils, and funnily enough Soter tends to be one who is decently good at picking those out. If people want to denounce every monstrous act done in New Eden, there won’t be a single entity left out, nor would any ground those people stood on be without its own marks of sin.

Just pick your lesser evils and commit to pointing at a few greater ones at a time, or nothing’ll get done.

I would have thought this particular one should have been good enough for most to not bicker pointlessly over, but then I am an inveterate optimist.

Let Feds killing worse creatures like these pirates do so with a bit of approval, hmm? Unless of course you are rating the Deathless’ pets as the righteous side? Tsk.

But did you address them to ‘Kittenz & Shak-daddy’?

How else would I have addressed them?

I’ve seen those rumors, and I found them concerning enough to put out my own inquiries to verify their authenticity. There have been incidents involving FedNav clone soldiers going rogue in the warzone before, and I don’t take the damage they caused lightly. So far our investigation hasn’t turned up any solid evidence, and what they have found seems more consistent with Marines conducting reconnaissance patrols in low security space encountering the usual sort of kinetic hazards from criminal gangs and smugglers. We’ll see what develops.

However, you of all people should recognize my fundamental point in this discussion. We were both there on the ground to witness the atrocities LDPS committed in the name of “Asset Protection” before being ejected from Intaki. Say what one will about the regrettable circumstances that arise when military forces are deployed to restore order during civil unrest, there’s no good faith comparison between Federal intervention and State invasion. Not burning and looting cultural relics from ancient Intaki temples is a pretty low bar, but at least my people are on the right side of it. Hell, there would never have been any reason for Federal intervention at all if the Caldari had simply… not invaded in the first place.

As for “breaking agreements,” I have a variety of thoughts on that subject but they go beyond the scope of this topic. Suffice to say, I have little patience anymore for honoring deals that betrayed the vision of the Federation from their inception.

We are pleased to see action being taken. So often words and thoughts are nothing more than trivial pursuits of cognitive dissonance.

Should the Blades need supplies, aid, or logistics, KamDron Union and its affiliates are happy to fulfill any needs that support the federation or its allies.

The succession crisis that would ensue if he tried such a transparent power play would make the whole Tash-Murkon Purity of the Throne debacle would look like an unimportant quibble in comparison. Khanid’s thinly concealed cloning and his little rebellion is scarcely forgotten by the upper classes of mainstream Amarr society. If he sincerely expects that the ( real ) empire wouldn’t turn on him the instant he made pretensions to the throne he’s a bigger fool than I thought.

Hah. Sure it would. Khanid was restored to full Royal House status by Empress Jamyl I. He participated in the last round of Succession Trials. On an even footing with all of the other Heirs. So he’s already made ‘pretensions to the throne’, and it was all accepted as perfectly legitimate.

Sorry.

There’s a significant difference between participating and actually winning. Such was the case with Catiz and purity of throne. I think the fact that Khanid is practically a foreign ruler at this point ( with a certain legal status within the empire granted to smooth over relations) and the fact the he has flouted Amarr religious doctrine over cloning would certainly… cause a stir if he won the trials. And of course he can only come back so many times. It’s not like Jamyl where it can be handwaved with “Divine Intervention”

Not really. You can bring up the Purity of the Throne fools all you like, but the Imperial Establishment saw them as an annoyance, at most. If Khanid wins the next time, then the Imperial hierarchy will, once again, freely enforce the legitimacy of that victory.

Yes, that’s why King Cloner alters the clone’s appearance slightly (we are, after all, sculpted biomatter), and changes what name he’s using. He was ‘Garkeh’, now he’s ‘Faroukh’ or whatever.

And the mechanisms of the Empire will accept it. Because to not accept it would be to say that the divinely-appointed Succession Trials picked the wrong representative of God’s Will. Once you open the door to that kind of schism, you can’t close it again. The possibility that it’s all a sham will taint all future occupants of the Golden Throne. If it happened once, it could happen again.

And if it has happened once, it could have already happened have a dozen times. Some faction doesn’t like Kittenz’ changes? She was illegitimate, too! Someone still pissy about Jamyl’s emancipation? Denounce her and all her works as illegitimate. Chafing under CONCORD’s restrictions? I think you know the refrain by now.

The Empire’s built on obedience and the illusion that the Emperor/Empress is chosen by God. Shatter that illusion, and I promise you, the only thing more glorious than the civil war that will rip through the Empire will be the laughter pouring from the Republic.

Gosh, guess I’m getting wardecced.

Greetings Summit Colleagues,

Since Blades of Liberty was founded there have been a number of new developments in our organization. First, as a personal note, after finalizing my departure from Moira. I have transitioned to a new role as Director of Operations for BLDZ. My initial portfolio has been to collaborate with Gen. Soter on a comprehensive recruitment program, which has been quite successful. So far we have completed onboarding of a diverse group of capsuleers including several old militia comrades, a number of promising industrialists, and even a few eager new pilots just starting their careers. They are already doing excellent work.

Our primary near term goal will be to leverage the considerable industrial talent that we now have at our disposal to launch a comprehensive armaments production and procurement program. Although our current combat capabilities remain modest, with time BLDZ will build a true Arsenal of Freedom.

We will need more than just capsuleers to wield these weapons of liberty, which is why I am proud to announce another important project: foundation of the New Eden Institute for Security Cooperation. With its main campus located on grounds previously acquired in the Kainta Yavaat region on Intaki Prime by GMVA for the use of its Villers Brigade during and after the Lai Dai Intervention, NEINSEC will serve as a premier school for military, law enforcement, and security personnel. Its curriculum will focus on defense and counter-intelligence operations, including both military and civic action, along with the technical skills necessary to support these programs.

NEINSEC’s inaugural class of students will begin their training in the coming weeks, instructed by a cadre of high tier experts drawn from the former GMVA Planetary Forces Command and various other professional military and security forces. We expect that its graduates will go on to serve with distinction in support of liberty and democratic civil institutions throughout New Eden.

More updates to follow.

Liberty Forever,

Rinai Vero
Luminaire General; FDU
Director of Operations; BLDZ
