Ganking makes Eve a better place

Get as a ship that can use an interdiction nulifier or fly a shuttle which is immune as a scout

When I was very new I discovered that if I flew my Venture very carefully I could get an Orca to spin. I was thrilled and the person I was doing this to developed a blood pressure problem when I discovered how much fun it was and couldn’t make my self stop.
This was around the same time I discovered that flying full speed into the sun caused me to bounce off like I had hit a pillow. That was somewhat less thrilling.

I do my own thing mostly by my self and it works ok, I don’t see the problem.

The only problem, if there is any, is that isolationist players have a low retention rate (you being the exception of course).

Sensible people don’t have a problem with players doing their own thing. You do you. The problem occurs when people want the game changed to further enable isolationist gameplay. Aside from fundamentally breaking the core nature of eve (risk/reward, fulltime pvp and player driven market) It’s also designing a game to have even worse retention.

That makes complete sense actually.

So why was this thread not merged with the “Nerf Ganking Megathread”?

Oh, that’s right. :ox: :poop:

I had thought the data that they have access suggests that ganking retains a Capsuleer longer and that they would purchase plex to seek revenge.

Visit here to get some info as to the vital question of why. Especially the last part of the second post clarifies motives:

This game, and forum too, have a serious issue regarding informed consent with regard to sadistic and predatory practices.

Ganking makes Eve a stupider place…

Ganking makes EVE a cruel place. There is no playing EVE to get away from the cruelty of the real world, if anything, it brings it in sharp relief.

It saw that players that were killed illegally had stayed with the game longer in 2015. And since then they also saw that players that had support after their first ship loss stayed longer. And that might have inspired the idea behind the plex offer showing after death.

This goes against every trash word you posted.

Thats 64 involved parties. Ganking is way out of control. Uedema might as well be nullsec.

And heres mine

Thats a proper lowsec fit which I used to collect loot from my main actually pvping. these dumb asses loss money killing me.

There is no point to ganking other than griefing people. If it was only about isk then my mail wouldnt be spammed and convo’d with trash talk attemping to get salt.

My killboard is way sexier than any of you scrubs

That’s great and all, but the person I was responding to wasn’t talking about ganking; they were talking about bumping, specifically about ice farmers messing with each other by bumping each other’s ships. My point was that bumping is the only tool they had to interfere with each other, because they’re war-immune, and it’s impractical for them to gank each other because they’re ice farmers and not ganking groups, so they’re not going to field dozens of Catalysts in order to pop each other’s Orcas.

Sounds like you didn’t even bother reading our posts in your frothy-mouthed, face-rolling-on-keyboard catatonic rage tantrum triggered by the uncontrolled desire to “sock it to them griefers.”

No i didn’t. Its just well dialoged trash…

Damn bro, your superior skills as an EVE player (and human being in general) have sure showed me. I feel so bad now, as if a real man has squashed and embarrassed me in front of everyone, and taken away my pride. I’m going to go write about it in my diary now, and curse the gods for making me so pathetic. Maybe, just maybe, one day I can be like you, and have, um…2 total kills and 40 losses on my kill board, so that I can brag about my achievements just like you do, and get all the fame and forum likes that I could ever desire.

It’s a big change, but I support it.

Would the same sort of data 2020 - 2021 indicate that this is still the case, do you feel that we as a people had changed to a more carebear attitude when it comes to ganking new players?

You know how seeing that we are all going through a pandemic and many might be on the edge of reaching max tension in our lives etc.

you dropped 35 million isk ? the gankers ships were likely a lot less than 10 mill. They made a profit \o/

Is why eve is so great.

The perception likely does change overtime, but this way or that way no one knows except maybe CCP if they look at it every year. They have no obligation to keep us in the loop though.

I feel the game is more carebeary yes. But not with regards to new players. New players are (mostly) a blank slate. If you told them that eve is hell and prepare for the worst, then that’s what they would do.

More that some dishonest players will try to use the ganking of new players to push their agenda. And CCP don’t explain eve’s fulltime PvP nature as well as they used to.
