Gila cheap fit

As a new player I recently want to try out Gila for PVE. It’s really a nice faction cruiser to fly with because of the medium drones. I would like to know your opinion on my simulated active and passive fit. It’s under fairly low budget so its performance is average. I want to know what level of the high sec security mission I could run it with. Also should I go with active or passive tank?

Someone else may be able to fine tune your fits, but they should both be able to handle Lv3 missions easily. The Gila is OP, and very forgiving for some mistakes.

However, I would not recommend taking any T1 cruiser into Lv4 missions unless you are already familiar with them, the jump can be huge, especially if one of the big missions is your first. If you haven’t done any Lv4 missions yet, I would highly recommend “mastering” Lv3 missions first. Primary warp disrupting and webbing targets first, and understand triggers and such by utilizing missioning guides.

This is the Gila fit I use for event content. It’s inexpensive but high skill - you’ll need to choose some meta modules that use less CPU. I don’t recommend the rapid lights for PVE - they take too long to reload.

I can’t really imagine a reason to Active tank the Gila. The passive regen on it is RIDICULOUS. Even a budget fit will coast through L3s without breaking a sweat. Basically all you need to do is drop an MTU, set orbit for about 5km, and then let the drones out to play. I usually run Rapid Lights to pick off any little Frigates who start messing with the drones.

If you’ve got all the money an Alpha could want, this will give you 62k EHP, tank 317 dps, and deliver 733 dps. But it’s worth about 2bil…

For an Alpha living on a budget, this has 41k EHP, tanks 161 dps, and delivers 471 dps. And it’s only about 200mil.

I agree, they do take a really long time to reload. But then again, missiles on a Gila are mostly there for show. You’re not doing a whole lot with your missiles that your drones aren’t already doing better. But the Rapid Lights are useful for picking off anything that is capable of threatening your drones.
