I got good drone skills and I like the Prophecy. Is there a good stie for it? The Mul-Zatah Monastery basically doesn’t’ work since the stasis towers can either bring the ship to a standstill or the drones to a standstill. Also I don’t think those can escalate. I don’t know if Curator sentries can hit the towers from outside tower range. A BC would be way overkill for the Desolate site since you’d spend a lot of time showboating around instead of shooting things so it would take longer than an Omen Navy Issue… even if you could bring in a battlecruiser which don’t fit in them in the first place.
The site Ruins seems to be too much DPS for it to handle. The Rogue Trial Yard is low payment, but this is actually a doable site and very fun. The Caldari low sec sites seem to be off limits because I can’t find a place that’s not exactly hostile. I mean a low sec system with 3-9 blues is probably better than one with loads of neutrals.
A Prophecy with a single rep module is surprisingly vulnerable to neuting in PVE which is a surprise to me since every time in PVP a Curse neuted my Prophecy, his team lost badly against my team regardless on if I survived the fight or not so my thought was I don’t need to worry about neuts in PVE. The drones don’t care abut the parent ship’s cap, but the mother ship cares about cap to rep itself.
Not a lot of PvE content for battlecruisers, mostly just L3 missions. Unless you’re living in a heavily trafficked area where taking a more expensive battleship is ill-advised, anything else that needs a battlecruiser is better done in a battleship, with its better tank and damage capabilities.
Secondly, drones are a great secondary damage source, but as a primary weapon they utterly suck. There are a few hulls, almost all Gallente, that can make them decent damage dealers, but once you’re out of drones you’re out of DPS, and NPCs love to eat drones.
As far as neuting goes, not every rat does that. You just need to learn which ones, or remember to check Eveuni’s webpage for the site, and take them out first. Normal target prioritization. If you don’t do sites with rats focused against Amarr, you don’t deal with neuting at all, but other ewar like target painting and jamming.
Yeah I know that, but it’s like “well this site has problem x and this site has problem y and then this one has prblem z.” For example the Ruins has no neuting… but the DPS is a bit too strong. The smaller unrated sites are great for my Gila… and the BC doesn’t fit (and in some of the lower DPS ones, it would actually do badly due to all the slowboating even if they could fit and the tank of the BC is overkill).
Its not that I can’t bring out my Armageddon or Apocalypse Navy Issue, I just like droneboats and want to make use of the space turkey.
Well I guess as I suspected given what you said the answer is “not many are good sites” oh well. At least the Rogue Drone Trial sites are fun to do and the BCs do perfectly fine here. The payout is… actually worse than a retriver with no mining upgrades in HS but at least it’s fun.
As a solo runner drone boat it’s not that good as myrmidon with dual rep and set of sentries/medium/small drones.
If you do semi-passise it’s a good bait ship for a small gang in low. Otherwise not much in usage since ccp didn’t find the good role to it during the last BC’s reshaping.
I find it funny that even a lot of the sites it could complete if it could fit but can’t due to being a bc it would actually be worse than a confessor.
