Can discourse hide certain forums from me so that they don’t appear in my “new” list?
For example, I’ll never read the Russian forum, and yet it appears in my new list. If I could just remove it, that would be pretty cool.
Or do I need to just use latest and set up forums to be watched?

You can mute each sub forum.
- Go to Preferences
- Under notifications, go to categories
- Go to ‘Muted’ and type in the category names you don’t want to hear about.
Enjoy

I have them muted, but that only seems to apply to latest, not to new. New will show all new items. Regardless of mute filters.

Hmm, not sure. I will see what I can find out. I will get back to you in the next day or so.

I’m not seeing muted ones in new. However, be aware that muting a category doesn’t currently mute subcategories under it.

That would explain a lot. It’s also a very silly implementation. Please fix.

Did you get a satisfactory response above?

I’ll set a bunch of mutes and report back.

The solution to mute all sub forums worked.
This seems silly, but only needs to be done once.
