They were flashing red or yellow that’s different for whaling on a guy doing a mission because they exist. You know that too so stop playing dumb
the jackdaws were already suspect from another kill
Please understand that it’s fine to play as an anti-ganker who fights criminals by only attacking red and yellow flashy targets, but that this is very different from complaining about the existence one form of PvP while you participate in a different form of PvP yourself.
The first is fun roleplay and I would love more people to do so, the other is hypocritical, and rightfully called out.
Please realize there’s a difference between in-game laws and game mechanics.
Just because you want to play as a lawful player doesn’t mean you have to complain out of game about mechanics that enable the criminal gameplay you fight against. Doing the latter destroys the game we enjoy playing, and also removes the yellow and red targets for you to shoot at.
I did once, there was an idiot trying to kill my MTU seeing I was there, everytime I locked him he warped out.
But the effort to dual box and fit insta lock was too much to just kill some idiot.
Let’s put it this way.
Once the flashy red/yellow is dead do I invite them to a channel, mute them and with my mates and proceed to mock them?
Do I write a blog with limited versions of the event that mock the person that I blew up ?
Do concord blow my ship up or lower my standings ?
all a big No.
There is plenty wrong with suicide Ganking “PvP” it’s driving people out of the game and the dwindling player base is pretty big evidence of that.
Chad move.
Giga chad detected.
Sticking it to the man. The system is rigged.
Why are you making Aiko look good? Aren’t you her enemy?
I’m at a lost here.
You could, and it would be roleplay of a vigilante cop fighting criminals!
Do it, it could be fun.
This is an MMORPG and it’s nice to see that some people are still playing roles. What’s a game like this without evil enemies to fight?
Read that again flower.
Note the “a big No to all” bit at the bottom .
The blogs and chats are not role play they are greifing .
You know this I know this ![]()
No balance? Mark the known gankers red and watch local. Mine in 0.8 or 0.9. As to your statement “doesn’t matter where you are” is a complete farce. You are just mad.
If you were grinding ice in a high-sec anomaly in a Perseverance you deserved to die. An Endurance is a much, much better option for public ice anoms. Perseverance should be used for Level 3 and Level 4 ice missions or the holiday event. Its limited availability means it’s a priority gank target.
AS for MTUs there is a whole sub-group of people who hunt them and pop them. I have a few MTU kills on this character. Its a perfectly legitimate play style, still has a degree of risk, and creates market opportunities (hint, hint).
Can I have your stuff?

They are easier to attack solo…but that equally means you can end up being the one destroyed if you get it wrong. That is why I enjoy being a suspect hunter. Sitting outside Jita I am both the hunter and the hunted…as my ship could just as easily be targetted by gankers. In fact I have to constantly watch to see if anyone has me locked. I also generally use somewhat more expensive ships than gankers.
Ganking itself is just as valid, though one really isn’t going to gank much solo ( though some do…solo Tornadoes outside Jita ). Gankers also have already calculated the loss of their ship into everything…whereas as a suspect hunter I have no intention of losing my ship.
The thing is, I simply don’t believe in the whole ’ I was just chilling out, minding my own business’ thing. Everyone is a potential target…for economic or corp reason…or for no reason other than a kill. I used to gank for Absolute Order…the goal being to drive other corps out of ‘our’ systems, for example.
Your argument is that ganking drives people away. Perhaps it does to some small degree. My argument is that a totally safe space adds even more boredom to EVE, and I’d bet boredom drives 100 times more people away from EVE than ganking ever does.
Options are what keeps people engaged.
Variety is the spice of life so they say .
You have low sec , Null , WH, Pochev and Abysmal space all areas you can chase whoever you want to your hearts content .
They have High sec
you take that choice away and folk who don’t want to participate in the 5 above will leave . That number happens to be greater than the 5 above. They go the game dies.
You misunderstand the situation, like… with everything else. I am gonna stay. And enjoy EVE as it is. People who don’t like PvP might realize at some point, that EVE isn’t the right game for them.
You happen to be a minority . A Turkey voting for Christmas.
When it’s dead you only have yourself to blame
EVE has since it’s inception both been a harsh PvP game and been dying, so I think that will take a while.
By now only some drastic changes could kill it, like completely changing the core gameplay to something much softer and boring.
Variety won’t kill it.
Allowing players to take variety away from others will
Then why are you asking for the removal of someone else’s playstyle?
Because that play style is removing other people’s play style.
You are a hypocrite if you think you can remove other people’s play style yourself and not have yourself removed.
see what I did there ![]()
Ganking does not remove playstyles.
Miners can still mine, haulers can haul.
In fact ganking makes those activities more profitable by culling the weak (AFK) competing miners and haulers, and causes more demand for mining and hauling on top of that.
Ganking is what still makes those activities worth doing.
Yea I see you attempted to mirror my argument but in this case it made no sense, so I give it 3/10 points for trying, minus two points for falsely calling someone a hypocrite.
Of course it does.
You want to pretend it doesn’t.
2/10 for trying to cop out flower but you got rumbled
