I like it. It’s a feeling and you are being strange by asking me to proove to you it’s fun. There are people that believe in deity, who am I to ask them for proof?! The constitution even has “The pursuit of happiness” in it. So i’ll be in my ore belt, pursuing it and not needing to proove I have fun. Call the cops. Stay angry.
A lot of stuff. Let me explain something totally rad, launch a MTU, make sure you have a bunch of tractor beams on your ship. Fly away from the MTU, then wait till some npc pirates are wrecked. let the MTU tractor them to the MTU, then lock 'em and tractor them back to you awesome! right? Then the MTU tractors them back, then you do that again, aw man, lots of fun! Or I GUESS in your interpretation boring. But People can have their own interpretations/opinions/feelings. Maybe you feel different and that’s ok, you don’t need to proove it, last time you won the Internet.
“The market” does not exist in Eve. There are many different markets. For several months now Im making over 200% profits in null and 40%+ profits in a certain station in high sec.
You have to find the right product for the right market.
First paragraph:
“i like it” is not an answer to the question why you like it, silly. i’ve asked, hoping you’d be able to explain the feelings and which parts of the solo-mining-activity you find to be fun.
Second paragraph:
so you say all the things you do around mining, or while your ship mines, are fun?
I dunno, man (see I remember you are not a female!) I just tried o answer what I do in game. I like what I think is mining, so maybe I misunderstand what it all is but, hey, i’m enjoying it so it’s okay. Maybe we need some scientists mapping the things happening in my brain so they can figure out what it exactly is that I love about mining.
I also like the stuff around the mining with the spaceships and stuff. For me it’s like i’m a miner and well, i have to go to the belt, and deploy there and do different stuff but in my opinion it’s all mining related. Like you go to work and do different things but in the end you worked a whole day. I’m sure farting isn’t part of anyone’s job but everyone farts at their job. I hope this is a good comparison because people always sigh when I make comparisons.
i’m not trying to deny that people have fun while they are mining. i’m trying to point out that most often people don’t see that it’s not the mining itself, which makes it fun. at least not when it comes to solo-mining.
sure, while you put it all into the same bucket (i do things while i mine, therefore its mining related) i go more into the detail and… i guess i could have gone into even more detail about it, but the post was long enough already.
when you say you enjoy mining, then i take you literally and wonder if you really know what it is that is fun about mining, because afaik no miner is happy staring at the laser, waiting for the hold to fill. it’s a waiting game and no one likes waiting, so naturally people do other things, while their ship is mining. this then gets mixed into “mining is fun”.
these are important considerations, but possibly not important for most people.
i’ve mined a lot, btw, quadrupleboxxing with an orca and three max yield covetors.
sorry for the edits and possible confusion arising from them. i rephrase and add things constantly. i’m never really happy about my posts. i rather speak and oh boy, i use my hands a lot when i talk!
sure, and I’m making a ton of money right now, heck the goons just bought me a few plex over the last few days. however if you look at the prices right now and need to train up the skills to build those items, well by the time you hit the market the prices will probably have dipped and could possibly go below production value as impatient people try to offload their supply they build chasing the money.
You should have trained your skills to ride the wave. I’ll probably pass, and stick to my own niche and speculations, too lazy and I actually do not need ISK. But it’s a good opportunity for new producers, and the skills will last.
yea yea, only a few bil in passive income a day, not a lot
and yes, the skills last, and every t2 item uses 2 skills so it is good to have a bunch of them trained so you can switch things up so you don’t over produce in one area, and can swap if demand shifts.
Cute attempt at a ‘nerf nullsec again’ post but nobody is multiboxing rorquals to produce T1 modules for the Jita market, those minerals are going straight into supercap production.
I admit that enjoyment/hour might have been a better choice. Fun implies more adrenaline than industrial activity usually provides but the terms are used interchangeably in common usage. To me, satisfy is about fulfilling a need. I don’t play Eve because I need to, I play the game because I enjoy it.
The one thing every person here seems to be forgetting is there isn’t a profit. As soon as you drop something on the market it’s going to be undercut. All the way to the point they’ll just buy it off you for resale where you’d just be losing isk to try.
Maybe you should rethink your market strategy… and sure, if it would be a nobrainer (I’m not saying ‘easy’, because it is easy), there would be no profit.
prices fluctuate all the time, when someone undercuts you can either play the 0.01 game, wait them out, or buy them out. Of course what you do depends on the market and what your goals are. If it’s a high volume market maybe you just wait, or if it is a small undercut and it’s still profitable you can undercut. Most other people on the market are also producers so they want a high price too, most undercuts are rather small, and most of the time playing the 0.01 game or waiting it out make sense. If they do a large undercut or have a small order a buyout makes sense, but I don’t see the large undercuts often.
youve still sold your product for the price you wanted
i was playing with industry a bit and i made a bunch of light missiles to sell in level 2 soe system
there was already some missiles on the market and it was quite close to jita so i sold them cheap
about the same as jita price
but its a good system for selling ammo and someone bought the entire stockpile to resell at a higher price
if i really wanted to i could just undercut them again with a new stockpile
but i cant be bothered lol
