Out of 30,000 players online at any moment, most are alts!!
Everyone knows only about 40 people play this game.
At the very least, you have three character slots per account. So assume everyone has at least three characters of themselves roaming around. This is only one at a time.
Assume all alphas are alts of the omegas.
Assume the average person could (if they needed to) run three extra accounts for multiboxing.
Thusly we can predict that for a mean average from most multiboxing to least there can be an assumed average of three accounts per person actively playing. Some just do their solo, others have fleets of their clones, I feel this is the most fair.
So out of 30k players 10k or so are unique.
You can only log on one of the character slots of the same account at the same time.
you missed this part elitatwo
Speaking of alts, since @Destiny_Corrupted and I think weāll be getting married someday, I figured itās time for me to roll a new alt. Everyone meet Archer en Corrupted! Iāve never felt so pretty
Edit: OH ā ā ā ā I FORGOT TO PROPOSE FIRST!!! Or is she supposed to propose to me?
Second Edit: What if she wants to adopt MY last name? So many questions to answer before the wedding!
Oh godā¦
By your response I donāt know if I should skill extract/inject or not
Is that LOL or a ?
True to the times I had 1.5 kids. That one with one leg, one arm, one eye and one ear was really a lot of trouble to feed. He also had a drinking problem. Everything he drank leaked onto the floor. Maybeā¦he became one of the folks who has .5 accounts!
In an age where half-a-child is a thing, Google lets you cloud compute with less than one virtual CPU
The question often arises on other games, although most of them arenāt quite as bot- or alt-friendly as EVE.
Despite what people assume, the clear majority of players in most games play a single account at a time. Some few people play 2 accounts at once, or 3. A very small percentage play 4-6 accounts. An extremely small percentage play 7 or more accounts at a time (less than 2% of players). This is on typical games, mind you, so EVE would probably double most of those numbers. Still, not a large percentage of players multi-boxing.
Personally though, not based on statistics, but just based on observations made over time, if we took the 30,00 player mark and wanted to break it down, my guess is the numbers would come out at something like:
14,000 - Single players: playing, AFK, semi-afk, ship spinning, parked in trading stations all day long, etc.
3,000 - players running alts
7,000 - alt accounts run by the 3k players using multiple accounts.
6,000 - Bots of various sorts, mining, ratting, market trading, info bots
Something in that range, anyway. It wonāt be like 8,000 real players, 12,000 alts, and 10,000 bots. Although I really canāt feel confident about that bot numberā¦
The second oneā¦
I was only joking
wow a really large number of bots.
Go to jita local, market alts/bots, cloaking campers. You already have 1-2k. Not to mention ratters, miners. There where even bots that was doing exoplanets PD. Bots are everywhere in EVE.
I think cutting current online numbers in half is quite good estimate on how much actual individual humans is playing.
thatās a bit sad to hear. Iāve been playing for 4 months and i have seen guys runing a small gang fleet alone and for me it ruins a bit the experience. maybe i need to realized that i have to get used to this multiboxing thing or quit the game.
maybe for some people thats the meaning of playing eve well, but to me having that amount of accounts multiboxing doesnāt let you to enjoy the game completely. maybe im the one who is wrong
Play your sandbox your way. Donāt let others tell you how to play. There is no best or right way to play eve. If you donāt enjoy something, donāt do it. Also itās a game, not job only about how isk you make. And instead of alt you can bring a friend. You will have much better experience.
People running dozens of alts is just a replacement for the automation the game would otherwise sensibly have, wrt mining etc. I work with automation IRL, EVEās lack of automation is purely a contrived means to have blanket policy against botting. I get it, but it isnāt sensible and as a policy has little effect.
This isnāt real?
